I thought the regular maglites they sell now that aren't LEDs are whitestar versions ? So should the regular maglites in the store now be a white light ?
handheld light? definmatly a custom made light...but if your talking about all lights, I knkiw guys who own the spot light from military helicopters, lol...
Can you to compare to the new 3D Maglite using the 3W Luxeon LED (sold in a 2-pack w/ a 3W LED 2AA MiniMag at Costco for ~$33 - dirt cheap (most places charge lots more). The Mag uses a small but very bright center hot spot with a lot of throw and a much dimmer penumbra. I prefer the Fenix L1D (or better, L2D or P2D) for the excellent beam pattern, but the Mag seems to be oriented to cops & guards would want the very bright center spot.
have you seen my homemade flashlight laser video i mod a mini mag in to a burning laser but i did not know how to make a heat sink so after 10 uses it melted but it was fun wile it last
yeah they are fun to make, some of the guys over at CPF convert flashlight bodies into burning lasers using blueray diodes putting out over 300ma!!! soem sell them fairly cheap compared to oens you can just buy from stores in the same power range...
for specific info go to candlepowerforums, but I cna say when you see lights that say 1 million or like 2 million candlepower they are way overrated and dotn actually put out that much light...
hi there... you really analyse a torch to its screw...but you know what? how about the batteries? what batteries do you use? what kind of charger? how many mAh? do you know when your cells are full (rechargable) or do you even measure the output before inserting them, to make sure you have full power?
Just an idea, because a torch always depends on its powersource as well.
ok... I just have to say "Don't go towards the light!!" Man, thats a hell of a flashlight. Maybe better then the lights on my friends 72 Super Beetle (No, surely better then those things!) NICE!
this much light sucks the life on your batteruies, theres no way around it, all the high power mods dont last as long as the stock lights, just the nature of the game, this one ion high is about 1 1/2hrs...

the body is strong, and easily customizable. you can build 4 custom led cre maglights for the cost of one surefire.

Maglite is using leds although I believe they are luxeons which arent as bright and efficient as the cree leds that are used in high end lights.

Awesome video. How do lumens and candel power relate, some lights say one, some say another.

Candlepower is an imperial measurement while lumen is metric/SI. They actually measure different things, so you can't directly compare them.
