Has everyone forgotten how Choirs where in the 90s. Vamps and melodies were heavily r&b inspired. It was everywhere. Musicians in churches were adding r&b melodies to many songs. It's just how it was then. Not so much now. I guess the people making this argument must be younger :)
Lol. This song is crazy. I love it. Hez was the man back in the 90's. His last 2 albums were great too. Don't you love when Gospel takes RnB and fuses it to show the world that not only can we have fun but we can do it in Jesus name.
What do I mean?
Check out Get On Up by Jodeci released before this song. Their chorus is this songs bridge/ run. Beautiful.
@DSFking I think that would just be coincidence. It's a melody line that is very common...and everyone uses it. I'm not knocking what you're saying, I just think it was just coincidence. Either way this song is a blessing.
@jido35 If it was just a simple bass line or melody then yes it mat have been a coincidence but Hez used the exact flow and words in his bridge as Jodeci did in their chorus. Hez even named the song I can make it (Get on up). Jodeci's title - Get on up. It not coincidence it couldn't be. Especially when Hez is known for fusing rnb hits with gospel themes. If it makes a difference to you I have friends that attend his church and sang in that choir (I'm from Brooklyn NY) they can confirm!
thank u for putting dis up..............
