My opinion on Hoenn is completely different when it comes to the anime. The Hoenn games are my favourite out of all the Pokemon games, and May is my favourite player character. But they ruined May in the anime and they ruined THE pokemon anime with this season onward. I refused to watch it after Misty left.

@TsuruyaTsumugi Lol Hoenn is my favorite pokemon game region too. But Dawn is my favorite travel partner with Ash. May is a close second though. And have you seen the new chick ash travels with? It gets worse., they actually replaced BROCK! I mean what the hell?! Without Brock i have no reason to watch. i could get over the chicks switching but brock? they crossed the line.

This season was the beginning of the end. They had to keep changing to keep it fresh otherwise Pokemon would have been cancelled, but they overdid it. Sending Misty away was the first big mistake. I gave up on the series when Hoenn started because I had finished memorizing the numbers of every Kanto Pokemon when Johto started and I had all the Johto Pokemon by the time that season ended. When they finished Johto and said "Guess what? 100 more Pokemon!" I was done.

Season 1 -5 openings were the best, this opening is the start of openings that are not in the same theme as the first ones. I guess it's proof of the changing of the times. meh
