  • i use hairspray to fix chalks and you can get the chalk erasers you can get on ebay or your local craft store

  • I like the video without background music :O)

  • @marylizart Ditto from me about the music. But thanks for the brilliant video, I don't feel so intimidated once I have seen the products being used.

  • I have always used hairspray as a fixative for Chalk and for Pearlex on cards. It's cheap and always comes out of the grocery budget and not the craft budget ! Lol !

I live in New Zealand and a lot of the products you talk about are not available to us cos they are too expensive to import in : - (

  • @mutti20101 You can buy chalk fixative from "Gordon Harris", I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Gordon Harris is a art shop, you can just google it and it has branches in major cities. I just bought a big can of chalk fixative for 12.00. It was on sale. Normal price would be 24.00. It lasts forever.

  • very nice!

  • Hi Kim, Where did you get the tape dispenser? I love your work, TFS.

  • Sent you an email.

  • quick question where did u get thee eraser?

  • @ChocoDrop2

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I have been on vacation from email.

I got my eraser at a local scrapbooking store. When you buy chalks or pastels (SU!), they come with an eraser most of the time.

  • very pretty, I will try it! I just bought a cuttle bug machine, having lots of fun!

  • nice

  • Simply BEAUTIFUL, and you are an excellent speaker and you did a great presentation. Since your video had such class - only one suggestion: play some quiet music (like very slow classical guitar in the background very lightly, which would really be super nice)! Great video!

  • So pretty.

  • This is sooo cool! I have some embossing templates for my Big Shot and I can't wait to try your method of chalking. The card is beautiful!

  • TFS. Nice card. Now I know how to chalk an embossed image!

  • Nice Video, Beautiful Card! To answer the person's question about "putting something" over the chalked image, i use a "FIXATIVE SPRAY". There are many brands. i got mine at WalMart, if I remember correctly. It is made by Plaid. it's : Plaid's Patricia Nimock's Clear Acrilic sealer-Matte finish. I've used hairspray but it shows spray marks and it yellows over time. Good Luck!

  • Thanks for letting us know that. I will have to look at Walmart.

  • Do the chalks have a tendency to smudge when you're getting this card in and out of the envelope? Is there a fixative?

  • The chalks can smear. There is a spray you can use that is at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I don't remember the name, but they would know what it is. I don't use it.

  • It's wonderful. Could you tell me please if I can find decorating chalks ... and others things you use on th web, to buy it ? I'm french ... Thanks a lot !!!

  • You can get the chalks I use from a few different places...Hobby Lobby, Archivers, Close To My Heart and you can search Decorative Chalks with Google and I am sure they is an online store that sells them.

  • for many people joann, com online is an excellent place to shop for many craft items i have found - things are often on sale so prices are reasonable and they have a lot of variety , i have found.

  • Love this card when i tried it i was so happy with the results the person i sent it to was so blown away thanks heaps

  • Oh, I am so glad you like it! Don't ya love it when you card make someone happy?

  • i tried this and was wondering if there is something you can put over the chalk to keep it from smearing/rubbing off...

  • I have heard people use hairspray if it is a card or there is something in the scrapbooking department. It is a spray, but I don't remember what it is called. If you go to the store and tell them what you want, they should be able to help you.

  • and i was giving away my chalks but where did you get those tools from? i mite keep my chalks now:)

  • Thank you for this tutorial! Now it is time to get those chalks out...

  • Good tutorial. Thanks.

  • never thought of using chalks will use in the future
