@felipede0107 Shanks would ultimately lose but to say he wouldn't stand a chance against Whitebeard i think isn't true. Akainu was dead set on killing whitebeard even injured but wanted nothing to do with Shanks, shitting his pants. I think the strenght of the Yonkou are comparable. I would say Shanks is a tier above the admirals but at a tier below whitebeard. The fight would be close in my opinion..with Whitebeard ultimately winning.

Pretty Shanks is stronger just becuase of WB's age but they so close in strength the battle would be decided by the one who let their guard down first, which judging by the marineford arc would be WB. He took alot of hits unnecessarily i'd say.

@gargola18 There's a possibility of that...because Whitebeard is past his prime. If they fought, the fight would probably last a while and end with Whitebeard narrowly coming out on top.

@shihoblade Whitebeard probably took all those hits because he is old. He uses all three types of haki yet he couldn't predict some of those attacks when he could use it to foil Ace's attemps to kill him even in his sleep. It would seem his age made him much slower to react than he should have been.

I love this scene. It shows the true badass of Shanks.

Whitebeard tries to intimidate him with his speech, his natural size and his great drinking ability.

But Shanks simply responds by drinking as much as fast, then also gives a speech in return. Then proceeds to block Whitebeard's attack with one arm!

Just plain badass.

@AlphaStraG nah that ain´t true.... there is no davy jones in one piece yet, in the last manga chapter we don´t know yet if van der decken has eaten a devil fruit, what we know about him is that his grandfather died in fishman island and that he is the true van der decken owner of the flying dutchman, the van der decken that we are presented in the manga is the grandson of the first van der decken, and he inherited his grandparent ship.
