  • LaneSifu,

I sent you a message via You Tube regarding your question.

    Have a great day!

  • Sifu Saleem was a private student of Grandmaster Frank Yee, he was given the name "Yee Gee Ling"( an honor). Master Yee went to China and Sifu Saleem studied with Sigung Bucksam Kong, He learned Wu Tai Chi from Master Johnny Lee,(now in Texas) was certified in Chi-Gung from Master Liang Shiou Yu(Canada), and then learned Ha Say Fu and Sun Tai Chi from Sigung Lam(California). He became a disciple in 2008. Do you have any credentials in the Ha Say Fu system to add substance to this conversation?

Thanks for checking out the video. Stance work, qi gong, and gung gee will definitely increase your strength. The Hasayfu that Sifu is demonstrating requires a lot of external strength to sustain the internal strength needed to make it work. Keep practicing and good luck on your Hung Gar journey.

  • To Sifu Saleem:

I have been training for several months now with one of your students, Sifu Griffin. The traditional training that I am recieving, through the stance work, chi kong, and gung gee my skills and strength have increased. Just sparring with sifu is tough enough

  • I found this video to be interesting. I went and looked at your schools website and found it informative. Strong lineage. It is rare for someone to study with such great masters in Kung Fu. Do you have other videos of HaSay Fu or your other learned arts, this was the only one I could find? Are all of HaSay Fu stances mid to high?

  • I am a student of Sifu Saleem and have been learning the Hasayfu Panther Set from him for the last few months. He currently does not have any more Hasayfu videos out but he is working on one and there will be more to come. The Hasayfu stances range from low to mid to high.

    Peace, Lil Dragon

  • Thanks. On the website, there is mention of a stance called yee gee kim yeung ma. Which stance is that from the video above?

  • The yee gee kim yeung ma is a stance that is some what similar to what some styles call the "pigeon toe stance", it appears through the majority of the Hasayfu Panter set and it can also be found in Cantonese Hung Ga.

  • As the person who runs this site I chosen to block markho1962 from posting here due to his us of profanity on my site. I have only removed his post that contain that type of language and have left the rest up so you can get some idea of his arguments. This was done by me the owner of the site and not the Hung Gar School. Joe

  • Your action just tell people you're weak to protest against viewers' query. If you cannot take this challenge, go home and

have a sound sleep. Your kung-fu is lousdy, spoiling and distorting the chinese martial art. I stand as a chinese protest your sin in cheating people.

  • This Sifu is the real deal, he is a disciple of Sigung Kwan Wing Lam. The Ha say fu system is a bit different from cantonese Hung Ga, so some things you may not recognize. He also has a book which is sold on Master Lams website.

  • Other people IF they respect him would call him Wing Lam sifu. Those outside of martial arts or outside his lineage could just call him Wing Lam.

  • You are a disgrace to yourself and your master. I wonder how proud your daughter would be if she read your comments? You have no class and are very closed minded. The fact that you spent 3 hours posting here reinforces your obsession. The language you use indicate you are not an educated person and your vocbulary is limited to vulgarities.

  • Disgrace? What do u know? Markho is one of the few Sifus who can back up every single word he says...

His Master is proud of him..sometime soon you will see why...and me as a student of MarkHo ,Im proud of him too and so is his daughter...yall need to come backdown to panet earth and stop holding each others dick..citing fortune cookie sentences wont make ur kung fu any better..

  • Markho Sifu( i use the term out of respect for you and all you have done promote TRADITIONAL hung gar) i feel i must agree with you, it seems to me(however uneducated i am) that in most of the Hung Gar lineages the animals appear to be similar but here they seem to meld and i find it hard to tell the differences after all th Cranes beak seems to be completely missing and the tiger seems to lack its claws,

so i am glad to read your posts and hear you stand up against these false Sifus thank you

  • it seems you have good eyes, the particular hands that you mention do not seem to be present in this video. on the other hand, i doubt that this video is the entire system. (it is but a 4 min. video sample), so it would be foolish to judge that quickly. i suspect it is equally foolish to call someone a false sifu that quickly. i hope we get to see more of this system in the future..

  • It would be good to see more of the system as i am not saying that this system is false, only the man. MarkHo Sifu is very highly respected and would not simply attack this man without GOOD cause to do so, in that i trust his judgement, after all he doesn't attack everyone, i do detest false teachers passing off fake systems as traditional and MarkHo is standing up for all of US and not himself, having spent so long in Hung Gar he is very equiped to tell the differences and let the people know.

  • and your comment GRANDMASTER wing lam,HE'S only grandmaster to your students or his other students students. he is NOT GRANDMASTER to anyone else OUTSIDE YOUR LINEAGE.

  • MY ADDRESS IS 35h tung kok wai ,fanling n.t hong kong

OR YOU CAN CALL 852 63314587

  • Also since you state that harsayfu goes back so long in history that there are no records you can say any bullshit and no-one can say if its right or wrong

  • your a dick you have been teaching 23 years and over 30+ i have been Teaching for the last 25 years but have trained a lot longer started when i was 13 now 45.

  • To markho1962:

I find it very interesting that someone all the way in China is so excited about visiting our web clip as often as you have. It is very puzzling to me that anyone would consider themselves the 'gatekeeper" of Chinese kung fu, especially since there are so many styles that have been lost.

    ......Sifu Saleem Alamudeen

  • Hung Gar styles that exist today have undoubtedly changed from their original format, and slight variations are quite common. As you have stated, you have only trained for 25 years. I have over 30+, and have been teaching for 23 years now. I do not want to make this personal, I had planned on staying out of this ridiculous discharge, but I have been requested to respond by, jb6571, our videographer.

  • I have been training private lessons with Grandmaster Wing Lam for several years now, ...in person, ...no videos. He is a man of high moral standards, is internationally respected, and would never promote deceit in kung fu. I have earned my position, and I also have my master's blessings in promoting the nearly lost art of hasayfu hung gar. Saleem Alamudeen

  • Watch for the book coming out soon! I advise you to find calmness, and emotional balance. I come to this conclusion since your words are extremely arrogant and aggressive and will bring shame to the image of "sifu." We are open to intelligent dialog, and we are grateful to our videographer for his efforts to uphold a respectful website. ......Sifu Saleem Alamudeen

  • NEED I SAY MORE

  • markho1962

It's hard for me to believe you've been studying or teaching kung fu for as long as you say. Your obsession wih this video and you childish comments lead me to believe, you are quite young and very immature. You know little or nothing about the person or people you are attacking. Yet somehow, from viewing a short video, you have decided that this is fake or made up.

  • After this he studied Har say fu from Wing lam's video's,but later went to wing lam and fixed a deal to promote Harsay fu

  • If, in fact, you have been involved with kung fu for as long as you say, then you should know that styles vary from master to master. I also find it interesting that you seem to think you are an expert on Sifu Saleem's training background.

  • Saleem Almudeen he first started learning with Frank Yee (long distance) then went to Bucksam Kong for a short period

  • ok lets throw in a joke seems thats what you like, the song night fever would be good for the snake part.Dont you think?

  • respect is EARNED NOT GIVEN

  • the hand positions for the tiger ,crane and leapord/panther are non-existant

  • no need, i have no respect for them and i call things how i see them if people dont like it then dont put up the video's. if you expect everyone to say nice things then you better be very good.AND I WASN'T JOKING OR TAKING A CHEAP SHOT WHAT TRUTH HURTS

  • research in china from his arm chair in the States funny

  • First and foremost I am not a student of Hung Gar nor a teacher. I am a video guy who helpped out some friends so I have nothing to hide. I removed your comment because all it said basically that this is a fake style of Hung Gar. I personally did not see were leaving a comment that is posted just to attack something with out any background given or reason for saying it was fair to the school I made this for.

  • But after seeing your last comment I will be leaving all of your posts up so that people will see you only like to make jokes and take shots at people instead of really posting something worth reading. Also even though I am not a Kung Fu Student I am involved in many other martial arts and it suprises me that someone who claims to be involved as long as you have does not seem to have the basic concept of respect down yet.

  • This is the last reply I will make to your comments I recommend that if you have any further questions about this style contact the school through the hasayfu website. I know they would be happy to explain about themselves to you.

  • i'm not saying anything to do with the lineage just his funny performance, wonder how long this lasts before he deletes it

  • first of all i live and teach hung gar in Hong Kong my sifu is lau kar leung and now that you have taken down such a simple comment does look like you got something to hide and i've been teaching for the last 25 years

  • It looks like the comment I was replying to was deleted and now it looks like I was replying to FUHOK17. The comment I replied to, in a nutshell, was saying this looked like sometheing that was made up. You guys keep training and I look forward to seeing/reading more in the future.

  • xdscott7 thanks for the comments you made and yes so everyone knows I did remove the comment you are referring to because I don't believe it is right to just post a comment saying this is a made up style with out any research or simply asking about this style first. Anyway it is a real style and I encourage anyone to research it through the Hasay Fu site if they are interested and again thanks for the nice comments.

  • However, I am sure that the folks posting this video appreciate your comment and hope that you will come back with an open mind and learn more about their system.

    - I had to break this comment up due to a 500 character limit.

  • From e-mailing these guys (I was a bit skeptical myself)I learned that Wing Lam is writing a book summarizing his research in China that will provide even more lineage of the system. Having looked at your website I am sure you know the Chinese government's stance on traditional martial arts. Thus, you should also understand why some obsure styles of traditional Chinese martial arts currently have some broken lineage.

  • It is hard to comment on what you can't see and don't understand. Ha Sei Fu (Hasyafu) is a very powerful system that relies a lot on the internal shape and structure of the body. Did you check out the website mentioned on the video? They list their lineage as the guy in the video to Wing Lam to the Si Gung Leung Wah Chew.

  • This looks strong, especially in the Panther section of the video. The movements look very direct. Interesting.

  • This is a very interesting video of a very obscure style of Hung Gar. Where did you learn these forms?

  • actually this is not me I shot this video for the Hung Gar School here in South Carolina. They teach this style and wanted to show it off because it is not really that know here in the U.S. Thanks for the comments on it I hope more people will be interested in this.
