meliving- well as long as you have a heat protectant on your hair you should be fine. i wouldn't use the hot comb, to me thats what give too much heat and may cause curl alteration

@meliving Just a side note, flat ironing your hair will not PERMANENTLY change the natural state of your hair. Once the hair gets washed it, will naturally revert to it's normal healthy and curly texture. I agree with PRETTYDIMPLES01, using a hot comb, unless you've had years of experience in using one, could lead to hair loss and thinning, from burning the hair, no matter how much heat protection you use. I use a professional curling iron, where I can control the heat.

I made it kinda simple by doing the braids a lil bit bigger (because I am impatient and parting my hair is like the hardest thing ever for me now).
