I get the same problem, I think it has something to do with the fact that the words don't match the audio in mine, and I can't find anywhere that tells me how to solve it, if it's possible to move it for example. If anyone who can get this to work just clue me in on the big secret, i would be grateful.

I got confused at the part where I should import the .wav file to the channel.. I made the sound in audacity, extracted as a .wav file, and put it in the folder steamapps\(username)\half-life 2\hl2\sound and named it test1.wav, but when I try to add it to the channel I only get an empty sound file.. Have I put the sound in the wrong folder? Exactly, in what folder should I put the .wav file? (I'm not using vista or anything, and I have checked everything else)

Haha, I solved it myself! I had named the folder "sounds" instead of "sound", and I was also stupid enough to put the sound folder in the half-life 2 folder instead of my mod folder.

Note to everyone who uses windows Vista: SPEECH SDK DOES NOT WORK ON VISTA!!! only on windows XP and all that other stuff

@AWP12 The automatic lipsyncing only works in windows XP you must download Mcrosoft speech SDK version 5.1If u got vista or 7 (which run on speech 5.3) your out of luck

Everything is fine until I try to add the .wav to the channel. I type in the right file name with the extension (the file is in the root folder) and it never adds it to the timeline when I click ok...wtf?

You need a "Sound" folder in the directory. It defaults not to the root but to the sound, so like half-life 2/hl2/sound is the default,, thus make a sound folder and store stuff in there, then you can just type the file name and it will come up

Go on the "tools" tab in Steam, and just install Source SDK. ;)

YOU WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT AN ERROR WHEN EXTRACTING SOUND TO FACEPOSER, ARE YOU SURE YOU EXTRACTED THE SOUND FILE ON AUDACITY AS A WAVE FILE!?

You know, at first you try to save as a wave file, it says it need a file "Lame.dll" or something like that. Google it, download it. Then try again, it will ask for it, then find the file and open. VOILA!

This can be caused of 4 things.

1. You havn't got the Speech SDK 5.1 from Microsoft's Website

2. Your .wav is really unclear

3. You used punctation when you wrote the sentence

4. Your using Vista! In which case, you have to add the phonemes manually

... this doesnt work for me... only on the soundfiles from the cfg files... I dont know what have I made wrong. I have recorded my voice and I have set all like you but it only says it has an error. this error is also at the cfg soundfiles but it works.

hey GREAT tutorial! but there is a problem i have. When ever i try to re-extract the audio file and type in the sentence, well once i hit Okay it says " an error occered duing extration" and dosnt work. I have the audio setting at 24 bit and 44100 hz. The clip goes for about 4 sec. Plz Help!
