  • is there a way to throw someone when they got double underhooks on you i seen something like that.

  • u have to extend your leg and place your achilles heel right above his foot, thats the true technique, not on his thigh ...

  • Shonie your leg needs to be extended all the way, otherwise they can counter you

  • No disrespect, but its awful how americans pronounces japanese words. Just try to keep the american accent away. ;-)

  • @Ryokushindo do you think japanese people pronouncing english sounds normal? i dront frink srow

  • anatomy of balance....

  • well done very technical and well presented

    good job guys

  • Yeah that,s cool you modified judo technique without a judo gi !! It just show,s you one of the many useful ways of judo and of course if not following Judo customs or rules you can like you demonstrated take advantage of all the vulnerability towards the opponent with punches knees and kicks !! Goshi Waza is just the gentlest part thanks for posting the video !!

  • Theres nothing wrong with the throw.

  • It's not that bad. Taking away the gi takes some of the "pretty" out of the throw but overall it didn't look bad.

  • wow that's just an uchi mata gone horribly wrong

  • harai translates into sweep. learn japanese, bro.

  • do you have to lift your hips, or do you just kick back with your leg to finish it?

  • Its mostly hip. People watch that leg too much and think its a kick to the thigh. That leg just blocks their foot from advancing, keeping them on your hip. Its really all hips and ass doing the lifting, with the rest of the leg just tapping the lifted leg of the opponent.

  • thanks

  • This is a beautiful throw when done while your opponent is advancing or lunging done with the right amount of kuzushi and speed there is no reason this should not be a finishing submission for any MMA fighter or Judo player it leaves you in total control from the top position.

  • @MsMarinecorps - excellent comment on Shonie Carter's judo clip. Only problem is MMA guys don't have a clue about kuzushi. It's a critical FIRST PRINCIPLE that MMA guys skip over.

  • pretty sloppy throw... and the breakfalling is terrible!

  • very nice. just a few moments ago i was wondering what the non gi grip would be for this throw.
