You could try to distract him somehow so he doesn't see what you do like takeing your hands up or waving or something ... In judo they push and pull oponent first to get him of ballance try that perhaps.

@Storm3Ryder That's all it is. You grab the wrist. Pull on the shoulder and sweep the leg at the same time. The biggest thing is speed and timing - in MMA and No Gi grappling you can't just hold on to someone's wrist forever. The guys on Human Weapon like to make things sound more complicated than what they are.

HUNDREDS of pounds of additional leverage! But what they fail to tell you is that if you don't something with the wrist. a simple wrist flick or roll and you're out of that grip.

But for the rolling kneebar (which is here on youtube too /watch?v=hfauTWYuI6g), the equation there is basically telling you that the leg is being pulled and the knee is the fulcrum, which is obvious to anyone watching it. Most of their equations are like that, they just state the obvious.
