Finally no more "throw away tech" Televisions. Plasma was the only acceptable form of flat panel tech for me...until now. I have been waiting on OLED for years, finally it's happening. Also, yes, I tolerate LCD because I have to, but really, LCD is really a best suited for signage, NOT a for graphic display.

Let's explain the differences between the technologies. A fundimental difference between LED ( light emitting diode) and LCD ( liquid crystal display) is that LED still uses an LCD display panel but with LED back light as opposed to the LCD fluorescent. OLED ( organic light emitting diode) however uses no back light. Each pixel has its own color generator eliminating the need for a colour filter for the first time. And of course each pixel emits its own light making for an amazing contrast ratio

Aside from insane black levels,the real bonus here is the CRT-like Motion handeling. LED's and LCD's have weak motion handeling as it's inherent to the technology,where as plasma shines in the motion department.And while it's MUCH better than LCD and LED, it's not quite as good as CRT plus there's tha nasty dithering effect. Plus Super OLED's retain that amazingly bright and super crisp/clean image that LCD's/LED's boast as well. Super OLED seems like the perfect tech! XD

I feel bad for those who fell into the gimmick of 3D last year... Here is a tip for those who like to upgrade their TVs to the latest greatest... Unless it improves the picture quality then don't buy it. 3D does "not" improve picture quality, 920Hz does "not" improve picture quality, Internet/facebook believe it or not does "not" improve picture quality... OLED "does" improve picture quality. Luckily for me the last tv I bought few years back and was just your basic 1080p LED LCD.
