Yes 500 characters is the longest possible comment. That was my point. (although Im fairly certain it doesnt make me a genius). On the other hand if youre only thoughtful when confronted by things you like, your beliefs will never be challenged and youre libel to become an idiot. But whatever man, do what you like.
Wow, after reading this it's pretty clear who the "idiot" is verybigcanada. It's you. You said that you're responses were less condescending but that's not actually the case; you just try (key word - try) to be subtle about it. People like you are pathetic.
Corndog, Come on man, you think that 500 characters response is "long winded"? You only read comics or something? You can do better than that man.
I didn't ask you to write something in order to please me. I asked you to write something that was thoughtful because it seems as though you are having a little difficulty in that department.
Korndog yes it is true you did not present any worthwhile criticism of the video... but you also didn't insult it. Videos and many other non-sentient thing (such as clouds, rocks, sock, etc..) do not care if you insult them (and are therefore not insulted).
What you have written makes you seem slightly hysterical and full of resentment. I hope you can get over it. Try writing something thoughtful. It might help. If you do (as I said before) I write a better (less condescending) response.
Hello Korndog, just so you know, usually when reasonable people (including conservatives) criticizes something they provide some sort of evidence to support their position... Also "get a job" isn't a very clever insult. If you could re-write your post and correcti these errors I will be happy to write a better response
How about Harper commiting our country to an extra 2 years fighting a war he knows we can't win? What will it cost us in blood and money? Harper doesn't care.
Your video is a joke and stinks of yet another weak, left-wing approach to knocking the fact that this country is currently governed by a party that can actually keep it together.
Yes sptomlinson, the video is joke. It is a small sampling of the crazy things that Stephen Harper has said. Now if you think that it's "left wing" to believe in global warming or in human rights institutions and if you believe it's "left wing" to think that the war in Iraq has been despicable and foreseeable disaster than Yes again, I guess that makes me "left wing".
yes mr. jgumwaiter, It is true! Harper is not a communist... very insightful! he is a neo-conservative fanatic. By fanatic I mean someone who disregards facts in favor ideology... similar (but not the same) as some communists.... funny eh?
I can't believe that Canadians are stupid enough to support this Government. This is Canada not America. We need responsible leadership. Anything would be better than Harper!
@SpaceAliensAreReal So go vote for Iggy? Canadians just vote people out of office and never look seriously at who is getting into office which is why we end up with so many lemons
@SpaceAliensAreReal I love how you talk about this being Canada, not America, and then say anything is better than Harper without menioning Ignatieff lived in America for longer than he lived in Canada and called himself American.
Liberal = Ignatieff = American
Want to keep Canada from being the US? Vote anything but Liberal.
@KevinDolin Ignatieff is Canadian, and has lived in Canada for the majority of his life, if you bothered to actually learn the facts.
Harper, on the other hand, told American conservatives -- whom he continues to emulate, incidentally -- that "Canada is a European welfare state in the worst sense of the term". It sounds like your pal Harper's the one with patriotism issues.
@KevinDolin You dont have to have lived in US to have an American way of thinking. Well just look at the political campaigns going on now.. We never seen bitching of parties before Harper came in the picture. Also we never really put much importance in the military funding of the country, but mr Harper wants an economy running on the fact that war will be happening. He also said that if he does get a majority govnt he would cut the funding for parties so they go with private companies. 100% US
@khaineli "We never seen bitching of parties before Harper came in the picture"
Wow, that is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Political parties have been at each other's throats for as long as politics has existed. The idea that everyone was happy and friendly before Harper came along is hilariously ignorant.
As far elections being funded privately.. uh.. this is the system in place in most of the world and the system we used up until a few years ago. 100% US? Wrong.
@KevinDolin Yea right, before we had parties that were making promesses and were trying to prove what valor their party had.. Now their bitching about what the others are doing wrong, sorry but we didnt see campaigns like that before. Not saying they were happy, but they were smiling. As far as private fundings you really want a government which is going to prioritize some companies which will normally fund their party!?.. That will only increase the gaps between the rich and poor.
@khaineli You are still wrong. This has been part of politics forever.
Also, if you are concerned about the gap between the rich and the poor, you might not want to vote Liberal since it increased faster and wider under their rule than at any other time in Canadian history.
Once again, you are misinformed. I say this not to be rude but you so can educate yourself.
@KevinDolin Plus seeing how you answer you prefer bitching other candidates then prooving yours is a good one.. Theres a reason why Harper is filtering which media is gonna talk at his press conferences, wanting to control his outside image and what his ideas are, while videos filmed inside the parties conferences say totally otherwise.. He is aiming on reducing the competition and have majority so he can spend money and time on issues that were already voted on and resolved.
@khaineli You are clearly not interested in rational debate and you have already made up your mind, so there is no point continuing this. With all due respect, you should educate yourself on politics (and in general) because you appear highly ignorant and misinformed.
@KevinDolin It is always going to be relative on the person.. But I believe that reporters around Canada trying to deplore the media control and the totalitarism starting to show. It wont be a rational debate as it is based on opinions and not facts. I can always show you the reporters and the specific shows, but I doubt it would lead anywhere. I refuse to give Republican a chance in Canada and the strategies they use to keep their power.. Yes thats my opinion which Im entitled to, called a vote
@KevinDolin Btw you did answer bitching the Liberals which is funny to me... Lol typical, dont have to be tall when your standing on ppl.. Shows me that ur ''rational'' debate is saying what others did wrong once again, that to me is weak. And telling me im misinformed??? We are informed by our media, and Harper is filtering most of it, how am I suppose to learn about his beliefs, instead of hearing what he wants us to. Ignorance is trying to convince ppl your opinion is better with no facts.
@KevinDolin I have my doubts your bringing anything to the table either my friend.. You keep repeating urself over again with some variations but u kinda prooven my point at the same time, It aint like you really have any strong arguments for ur opinion anyways. Ur only able to tell ppl they are stupid and ignorant because they do not believe the same things you do. So instead of stating ur beliefs or defending ur party, u go for name calling. Doesnt show much more intelligence on ur behalf.
@khaineli I have already provided evidence to show why you are wrong and don't know what you're talking about. You, on the other hand, can't even master spelling and grammar at a grade 3 level.
Idiots usually don't realize they're idiots. This, my friend, is you.
@KevinDolin I hardly see anything but easy insults in your answers. And u really care about my spelling on a useless conversation over you tube? Seriously u think I give a fuck about ur highness? You failed to give once again any arguments, all I see is ur opinion and what u believe is true. Id like to see the said ''evidence'' and plz do tell me why im wrong cuz other then telling ppl their idiots, ur not very good at anything
@SpaceAliensAreReal Canadians don't support this government the proof is their minority.
A Majority off Canadians want the conservatives out of there but due to the Canadian electoral laws, since Canadians are divided between the other political parties, their votes count less. It's as if we were 5 in a room 2 conservatives, 1 Liberal ,1 NDP and 1 Green. We all agree majority doesn't want conservatives but since the other 3 are divided the majority of the votes are conservatives.
I am Canadian and I totaly agree with you. The conservative party is just taking a step back in the past. Shame is they're too strong in the western part of Canada. In the eastern (where I live) they have a terrible reputation, and more than half of people in Quebec voted for the NDP, with the Conservatory party getting a ridiculously small amount of deputies. No wonder why we wanna break off >.>
@SuperTemplar2 - Harper has a majority now. The Liberals have been reduced to insignificance and the Bloc have been destroyed. Jack Layton can squawk all he likes from the opposition benches, but he is still powerless to do anything to change the situation. It four more years with a majority Tory government.
@bgibb101 yes BUT if there's one thing harper doesn't want is quebec breaking off, and with 58 deputies of the NDP in Quebec and only 6 conservatives it should be obvious to Harper that our opinion about him is very negative, so if he messes with us either way he'll get bashed in for the next elections or we will make a referendum, but in a way he's being held by the balls so he better not make abusive decisions. I seen the protests at the G8 and G20
@SuperTemplar2 - Who cares about you plastic Frenchmen anyway? You have been a drain on Canada since the country was formed. In case you have forgotten - you lost the battle of the Plains of Abraham. Why don't you do us all a favour and GET OUT of my country. As for the G8 and the G20, if you are comparing yourselves to the black hooded thugs who caused millions of dollars worth of damage to private property, then its time to get rid of you traitors.
We are not traitors, and I don't see the point of this insult. You act like all the ignorants in Canada. All I was saying is that eastern and western Canada has very different opinion. I would NOT want to break off, but seeing how our Prime Minister threats us I'd rather leave this beautiful country than endure his ridiculous laws and decisions that are completely against my opinion and against the opinion of almost everyone in quebec. And its not YOUR country, its OUR country
I know, right? Damn Frenchmen. They suck all our money like leeches... They're an inferior people, and all they ever do is steal! We should totally relocate them to specially built camps, while we have REAL Canadians take control of their businesses.
And, while we're at it, why don't we establish special protocols to keep them reproducing. Nothing too serious, but maybe we can forbid them from marrying an English Canadian, because we all know that we're SO different.
@Cheeso33 - Quebec is a thorn in our flesh - or has been? the Bloc has been destroyed, so perhaps thing will change now for the better. Lazy? Send them to camps? What are you on about? I never said they were lazy or deserved persecution, but all this talk about them being a "nation" within Canada is pure bollocks. As for my friends in France, they do not regard the Quebecers are being "French" in the true sense, nor do they feel any kinship with them. Yes, English Canadians ARE different.
@bgibb101 Telling you that we should said all the Frenchmen to concentration camps, forbid them from marrying, and steal their businesses, is intellectual brilliance?
I was making a point. The Nazis started the same way you are now.
@SuperTemplar2 - remember, that they picked up 70 seats in Ontario. I doubt that Harper is going to do anything rash. He wants to occupy 24 Sussex Drive for another four years, so he'll have to tread carefully in spite of his majority. You can bet he'll scrap the long gun registry, place some restrictions of abortion (such as partial-birth), and pump more money into the military. But nobodys rights are going to suddenly torn from them. What do you think is going to happen?
Well at school we did researches about politics, and my task was to do researches about the conservative party's ideas. I read official files from them that describe their promises for the elections, and many of those are some I don't agree with
- Return of the death sentence
- Abortion is now illegal
- Gay marriage isn't allowed anymore
- Smaller party's wont get any money (sly way to keep other party's for taking the majority away from them)
@SuperTemplar2 - OK, but I doubt if we will see a return of the death penalty. Gay marriage is something Harper said he will not revisit, but abortion may see some restrictions without actually being outlawed. As for political parties, they should not be getting our tax dollars anyway. There IS the Clean Air Act and more money to invest in clean technology. The Kyoto Accord would have been a disaster for Canada, but i do believe that other options should always be kept open.
Richard Nixon?! ha ha! You couldn't have picked a better handle for someone who's obviously a half-wit. Just remember that when the body bags start coming back from the Drug War in Afghanistan, it was your vote that contributed to another Canadian's death.

Piff fuck you, like you know anything, if there was no war we wouldnt have the country that we love today. If everyone had hippy ideals like you the world would be a terrible place to live, and you couldnt sit back complaining.
Stephen Harper is a great Canadian prime minister, Layton and Dion would would have been just awful. If any of you youth actually voted we could take your complaints seriously.
Most of the youth you're speaking to are too young to vote, despite the level of interest many of them take in the electoral process. I suggest you first refrain from making gross generalizations that all youth complain and second, realize the damage that Harper's policies have caused to Canada on the whole. I'll thank you in advance for kindly shutting up in regards to the youth, until such a time when people of your age group decide that we have the capacity to make an informed vote.
I am a youth, I'm only 18 and I vote proudly. I will not shut up about anything my fellow Canadian. Take a look at who our current Prime minister is, seems I have a few more people on my side.
If you are indeed a youth, than why speak of your own age group as you did previously?
"If any of you youth actually voted we could take your complaints seriously."
The majority does not dictate the better option. All it confirms is that the pattern of our election system thrives. Conservatives get voted in, and then after a term or two, the people return to the Liberals. I can agree that Dion as a person would be the worse leader, it's the party affiliation that has me more concerned.
The ad hominem proves my point quite nicely. However, it would help if you used the proper word. You're looking for the contraction of you and are. I believe it's spelled, "you're".
According to the right, the Liberal Party is corrupt and they're all theives and Dion is "not a leader" but two elections and they can't form a majority government. Kinda says things aren't going very well for them. But if they ever do form a majority and stay in power for 13 years then you can tell me to go fuck myself.
What's wrong with Harpers kyoto comment is not his analysis (I think he's wrong we could argue about that) but his characterization of kyoto as a "socialist scheme". This is indicative of contempt Harper has shown for ANY real action on climate change.
As for his comments on human rights commissions, it is one thing to say they limit certain types of "hate speech", but to suggest that they are a totalitarian attack on his freedom is an inflammatory lie!
As far as Kyoto is involved, Canada ignored a commitment that made us look like idiots.
The Liberal idea is nothing more than a cash grab, but then again, so is the conservative plan which they don't talk about much. Either way, we get taxed. Harper's ideology is incredibly wrong for the direction of our country. Poor health care systems, lack of advancement for new energy, utter devotion to big oil, and spending habits worse than Paris Hilton. The cons are scammers. Don't be fooled.
Harper sells out Canadian rights when he wishes. Very credible people have figured out Bush's war on terror was rigged yet Harper wanted Canadian troops fighting 'because they're allies'. Martin agreed to troops in Afghanistan because of pressure from the White House to commit troops. Chretien crushed Harper for even suggesting we allow troops in Iraq. We'd have 5 times the losses if we commited to that occupation. The 'war' has cost Canadian over 22 billion dollars. Not conservative.

Human Rights commissions (see sec 13 of the code ) are an attack on our fundamental right to freedom of speech. If you dont like Harper there are many Liberal MPs who also appose the direction the HRC is taking you can talk to.
PM Paul Martin also suggested at one time that we should go to iraq
If you understood Kyoto, it does move wealth from the rich to the poor countries.
Good Work, the video is entertaining but I'm still voting for the best candidate. HAPRER
I didn't know Harper was so astute. He is right on all counts. Right is always right, left is never right - and never the twain shall meet.

Wow, after reading this it's pretty clear who the "idiot" is verybigcanada. It's you. You said that you're responses were less condescending but that's not actually the case; you just try (key word - try) to be subtle about it. People like you are pathetic.
NodeRanvier 2 years ago
Corndog, Come on man, you think that 500 characters response is "long winded"? You only read comics or something? You can do better than that man.
I didn't ask you to write something in order to please me. I asked you to write something that was thoughtful because it seems as though you are having a little difficulty in that department.
verybigcanada 2 years ago
Korndog yes it is true you did not present any worthwhile criticism of the video... but you also didn't insult it. Videos and many other non-sentient thing (such as clouds, rocks, sock, etc..) do not care if you insult them (and are therefore not insulted).
What you have written makes you seem slightly hysterical and full of resentment. I hope you can get over it. Try writing something thoughtful. It might help. If you do (as I said before) I write a better (less condescending) response.
verybigcanada 2 years ago
Hello Korndog, just so you know, usually when reasonable people (including conservatives) criticizes something they provide some sort of evidence to support their position... Also "get a job" isn't a very clever insult. If you could re-write your post and correcti these errors I will be happy to write a better response
thanks

Your video is a joke and stinks of yet another weak, left-wing approach to knocking the fact that this country is currently governed by a party that can actually keep it together.
sptomlinson 3 years ago
Yes sptomlinson, the video is joke. It is a small sampling of the crazy things that Stephen Harper has said. Now if you think that it's "left wing" to believe in global warming or in human rights institutions and if you believe it's "left wing" to think that the war in Iraq has been despicable and foreseeable disaster than Yes again, I guess that makes me "left wing".

@SpaceAliensAreReal So go vote for Iggy? Canadians just vote people out of office and never look seriously at who is getting into office which is why we end up with so many lemons
brucedpennie 1 year ago
@SpaceAliensAreReal I love how you talk about this being Canada, not America, and then say anything is better than Harper without menioning Ignatieff lived in America for longer than he lived in Canada and called himself American.
Liberal = Ignatieff = American
Want to keep Canada from being the US? Vote anything but Liberal.
KevinDolin 1 year ago
@KevinDolin Ignatieff is Canadian, and has lived in Canada for the majority of his life, if you bothered to actually learn the facts.
Harper, on the other hand, told American conservatives -- whom he continues to emulate, incidentally -- that "Canada is a European welfare state in the worst sense of the term". It sounds like your pal Harper's the one with patriotism issues.
BoredomCorner 10 months ago
@BoredomCorner You are wrong, as usual. Ignatieff has spent far more time in the UK and the USA than he has in Canada.
Additionally, when he lived in the United States, he referred to himself as American and would say "we" when speaking of Americans.
You are amazingly misinformed.
KevinDolin 10 months ago
@KevinDolin You dont have to have lived in US to have an American way of thinking. Well just look at the political campaigns going on now.. We never seen bitching of parties before Harper came in the picture. Also we never really put much importance in the military funding of the country, but mr Harper wants an economy running on the fact that war will be happening. He also said that if he does get a majority govnt he would cut the funding for parties so they go with private companies. 100% US
khaineli 10 months ago
@khaineli "We never seen bitching of parties before Harper came in the picture"
Wow, that is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Political parties have been at each other's throats for as long as politics has existed. The idea that everyone was happy and friendly before Harper came along is hilariously ignorant.
As far elections being funded privately.. uh.. this is the system in place in most of the world and the system we used up until a few years ago. 100% US? Wrong.
KevinDolin 10 months ago
@KevinDolin Yea right, before we had parties that were making promesses and were trying to prove what valor their party had.. Now their bitching about what the others are doing wrong, sorry but we didnt see campaigns like that before. Not saying they were happy, but they were smiling. As far as private fundings you really want a government which is going to prioritize some companies which will normally fund their party!?.. That will only increase the gaps between the rich and poor.
khaineli 10 months ago
@khaineli You are still wrong. This has been part of politics forever.
Also, if you are concerned about the gap between the rich and the poor, you might not want to vote Liberal since it increased faster and wider under their rule than at any other time in Canadian history.
Once again, you are misinformed. I say this not to be rude but you so can educate yourself.
KevinDolin 10 months ago
@KevinDolin Plus seeing how you answer you prefer bitching other candidates then prooving yours is a good one.. Theres a reason why Harper is filtering which media is gonna talk at his press conferences, wanting to control his outside image and what his ideas are, while videos filmed inside the parties conferences say totally otherwise.. He is aiming on reducing the competition and have majority so he can spend money and time on issues that were already voted on and resolved.
khaineli 10 months ago
@khaineli You are clearly not interested in rational debate and you have already made up your mind, so there is no point continuing this. With all due respect, you should educate yourself on politics (and in general) because you appear highly ignorant and misinformed.
KevinDolin 10 months ago
@KevinDolin It is always going to be relative on the person.. But I believe that reporters around Canada trying to deplore the media control and the totalitarism starting to show. It wont be a rational debate as it is based on opinions and not facts. I can always show you the reporters and the specific shows, but I doubt it would lead anywhere. I refuse to give Republican a chance in Canada and the strategies they use to keep their power.. Yes thats my opinion which Im entitled to, called a vote
khaineli 9 months ago
@KevinDolin Btw you did answer bitching the Liberals which is funny to me... Lol typical, dont have to be tall when your standing on ppl.. Shows me that ur ''rational'' debate is saying what others did wrong once again, that to me is weak. And telling me im misinformed??? We are informed by our media, and Harper is filtering most of it, how am I suppose to learn about his beliefs, instead of hearing what he wants us to. Ignorance is trying to convince ppl your opinion is better with no facts.

SuperTemplar2 9 months ago
@SuperTemplar2 - Who cares about you plastic Frenchmen anyway? You have been a drain on Canada since the country was formed. In case you have forgotten - you lost the battle of the Plains of Abraham. We are not traitors, and I don't see the point of this insult. You act like all the ignorants in Canada. All I was saying is that eastern and western Canada has very different opinion. And its not YOUR country, its OUR country

@bgibb101
Cheeso33 9 months ago
@Cheeso33 - Quebec is a thorn in our flesh - or has been? the Bloc has been destroyed, so perhaps thing will change now for the better. Lazy? Send them to camps? What are you on about? I never said they were lazy or deserved persecution, but all this talk about them being a "nation" within Canada is pure bollocks. As for my friends in France, they do not regard the Quebecers are being "French" in the true sense, nor do they feel any kinship with them. Yes, English Canadians ARE different.

What do you think is going to happen?
bgibb101 9 months ago
@bgibb101
Well at school we did researches about politics, and my task was to do researches about the conservative party's ideas. I read official files from them that describe their promises for the elections, and many of those are some I don't agree with
- Return of the death sentence
- Abortion is now illegal
- Gay marriage isn't allowed anymore
- Smaller party's wont get any money (sly way to keep other party's for taking the majority away from them)
and nothing about environment.
SuperTemplar2 9 months ago
@SuperTemplar2 - OK, but I doubt if we will see a return of the death penalty. Gay marriage is something Harper said he will not revisit, but abortion may see some restrictions without actually being outlawed. As for political parties, they should not be getting our tax dollars anyway. There IS the Clean Air Act and more money to invest in clean technology. The Kyoto Accord would have been a disaster for Canada, but i do believe that other options should always be kept open.

Richard1Nixon 3 years ago

Richard1Nixon 3 years ago
If you are indeed a youth, than why speak of your own age group as you did previously?
"If any of you youth actually voted we could take your complaints seriously."
The majority does not dictate the better option. All it confirms is that the pattern of our election system thrives. Conservatives get voted in, and then after a term or two, the people return to the Liberals. I can agree that Dion as a person would be the worse leader, it's the party affiliation that has me more concerned.

pjmicho 3 years ago
Again to mr. bob4851
What's wrong with Harpers kyoto comment is not his analysis (I think he's wrong we could argue about that) but his characterization of kyoto as a "socialist scheme". This is indicative of contempt Harper has shown for ANY real action on climate change.
As for his comments on human rights commissions, it is one thing to say they limit certain types of "hate speech", but to suggest that they are a totalitarian attack on his freedom is an inflammatory lie!
verybigcanada 3 years ago
Cont.
Don't be fooled.
jackanapeVO 3 years ago 2

HAPRER
