All the piping videos up so far are of the Lynch/Britton 3/4 set I played for over 10 years and sold last year. I never owned a full set until about a month ago. I currently have Benson & Cornelius custom full set which I will be showing off here very soon:) Cheers!
It is indeed a C#/D; a refurbished Honer Erica. Joe Derrane plays that jig, although I believe he and others call it "Hardiman's Fancy". Thanks for the kind comment.
Irish music when can be a bit like the equivialent of dance or rave, except it's traditional. And it's a type of music people from anywhere in the world can relate to.. It's just great fun..
Agreed. I'm not a fan for country or bluegrass but Irish genre's really make me happy and like king said, I really think it can relate to a lot of people. Just gets everyone in a cheery mood =D Great job guys!
the first jig is called Hardiman's or Hardleman's Fancy, popularized by fiddlers Eugene o'Donnell and Brendan Mulvihill, on their respective solo albums, both on Green Linnet, Eugene's being accompanied by Mick Moloney on Bouzouki, Guitar, and Mandolin, called Slow Airs and Set Dances, #1015, released 1978 on Green Linnet Records. The second Brendan's album, called the Flax in Bloom, coincidentally accompanied by Mick Moloney on the aforementioned instruments in 1979,#1020, also on Green Linnet
You guys are great! Keep it up! One question for the piper Zac Leger, how much did you pay for your pipes and do you know where I can buy a set that is no too pricy? Thank you guys and good job!!!
Nice blending. Truthfully, I'm not a great fan of the pipes, but they sound lovely mixed in with the other two instruments. Good transitions and choice of jigs.
You don't like the pipes but you DO like the accordion?! What?! Ha ha, just kidding;) Thanks for the comment, glad everyone is enjoying the tunes! -Zac
Hi Zac, nice playing you guys. If you haven't gotten it already, the name of the first jig is "Hardiman's Fancy." It was recorded by Joe Derrane back in 1949 or so, and more recently by De Danann. I've always thought it sounded like a clever take on "The Banks of Lough Gowna."
Keep her lit boys! The first tune is one I learned a few weeks ago from Angelina Carberry's album An Tradisiun Beo. It's called Hardiman's Fancy. Certainly one of my favourite jigs.
Bravo ! I'm fan !

Yeah, I know several older players that like to pair "Hardiman's" with Lough Gowna. Seems to work well.
