@cyk1217 how so? I'm afraid the facts are the opposite of what you are describing. Van Til's work and Bahnsen's work are a mess of fallacies that have been incinerated by Dawson Bethrick.
"Huge heretic." Perhaps to a protestant, evangelical, or reformed theologian he is a heretic, but to a vast majority of the Christian world who embrace Cristus Victor and Sripture + tradition, he is right on. I laud him for having the intellectual cajones to contradict the extremes to which Calvins followers have taken his teachings. Remember, Calvin and Luther both believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary and did not believe in Sola Sciptura as you define it. Careful how you label people.
Perpetual virginity of Mary is essential to the Christian belief of How Christ had to be born, however, this is completely different from the "Immaculate Conception" theology of the church of rome which is one of the reasons for the reformation.
given that you said that these men did not believe in sola scriptura is grossly incorrect. For their basis of how they followed their churches was lead by scripture only which is another reason for the reformation from the church of rome
vAN TIL taught that God is one person and three persons in the same sense. This is heresy. No reformed doctrine would support his arguments. He sights no biblical exegesis for these claims because there are no scriptures to support this irrationalism.
Red Beetle have you even read The Defense of the Faith? Van Til labors heavily to defend both the Trinity and Sola Scriptura. Read it. But before that, don't post comments of little intellect here.
VanTil's insights were not just that 'people have presuppositions' that has been an insight in philosophy for years on end. Descartes Meditations come to mind where in the question of 'presuppositions' is the driving force. VanTil did not want to just point out that everybody has their presuppositions. Instead he wanted to tell believers and nonbelievers what those presuppositions were and are.
Romans 1 : "All men know God yet suppress the truth in unrighteousness." Hence VanTil wants to stress that all men borrow the capital of the knowledge of the Triune God in order to make their system of belief and knowledge work.
"defense of the faith" is one of the, if not the most fallacious, predatory, dishonest "account" of philosophy on the face of the planet.

Van Til was a huge heretic.
He rejected Sola Scriptura.
He rejected the Trinity.
Where are his essays on Sola Fide?
Van Til defended heretic Norman Shepherd publicly (Shepherd was dismissed for teaching justification by faith and works at Westminster Seminary, Pa.).
Van Til's irrationalism helped produce the heresy of Federal Vision.
Van Til was not even a presuppositionalist!
He actually endorsed the traditional arguments for God's existence in his writings.
Get educated.
