  • Can you please explain to me the significance of those circles that appear as the percentage increases? The other WCG projects show you protein molecules as graphics, but I still can't figure out what those circles mean...

  • The circles are crystallographic images: cancer-related proteins crystallized and then photographed. Understanding the protein images requires quite a bit of processing on a computer, and we're talking about many millions of images - hence, the unique opportunity afforded by distributed computing.
