Well, they are clones of Jango Fett, but Jango Fett was a Mandalorian because of his culture and how he was raised. The clones just share his DNA, not his up bringing. Jango raised Boba the same way he was raised, hence why Boba would be a Mandalorian and the other clone aren't. Some became Mandalorian on their own (on an individual basis), but the vast majority were never Mandalorian.

I did know Traviss tried to make them all Mandalorian, which was one of the reasons I could never get into her books, kind of obsessive. But none of the other Clone Wars books even hinted that they were trained like Mandalorians, at best an arguement could be made for the ARC troopers, but I don't think the average clone. That's one of the reasons she quit writing, since everyone else and the Clone Wars TV Series didn't follow along the lines she was writing.

As I undertood it, that was the reason she stopped writing writing Star Wars novels. The TV series wasn't going along with her Mandalorian theme and she didn't like it. But when you think about it, the vast majority of ARCs and Commandos wouldn't have been trained by Mandalorians, which makes a whole lot more sense than what Traviss was trying to do. Personally, I think she's way too obsessed with Mandalorians. Just look what she did to Boba Fett.

@electricboa I thought she quit before the clone wars. I remember her not being there for Celebration due to her "conflict" with the publisher. But I did get to talk to her at Celebration II, she delcared Kris Taylor, me, the biggest Mando nerd :)

Well, the Clone Wars TV series (and most Clone Wars books) don't have the clones having Mandalorian culture, which makes sense to me (so I have no sympathy for her trying to change that and failing) and the planet Mandalore in the TV series is peace-loving and exiled the commandos.

@electricboa It actually lines up with her novels. She says that not all clones were apart of the Mando culture. In fact most despised the mandos for the amount of casualties they caused. And them exiling the commandos is actually mentioned in the second Rep Commando.

I hate how clone wars mixed up the armor style... The Death Watch armor looked much different. The helm being my current focus... As it is exactly like Jaster's true Mandalorians, during the Mandalorian civil war.

Clone wars continues to disappoint me... Ruining both the Death Watch and the Mandalorians...

Well, depending on how literally or figuratively you want to look at the song, an arguement could be made for either side. In a way, Death Watch and Dutchess Satine were fighting for different versions of Mandalore, like 'voices' in the collective head of the people. But sithmaster4305 requested the combination of the Death Watch and the song, I thought it sounded like they fit, so I did it.

I hadn't heard of that song until now, but I do prefer songs with lyrics.

Especially since the song translated has the words "Every last traitorous soul shall kneel" which I think really applies to Dutchess Satine turning her people away from the true Mandalorian way of Battle and Honor.

The mandalorians normally joined the seperatists. The clones fought them often if you read the Republic Commando books. After Darth Revan the mandalorians just became bounty hunters and mercs. This is just a big group of Mercs.
