I read his book, he was blunt and no false modesty in it. Maybe some people don't take that well. The one thing I did find difficult was his double standard in his marriages. He fooled around but flew off the handle if his wives went with someone else. Still, it was an interesting book, he made some terrible films but also some great ones. I watched Houdini and Trapeze as a kid, and they always stuck in my mind.

My impression of that one time i met him was that he was an impeccible gentleman and uttery charming. Peter Ford & 3AW you are hateful individuals wanting publicity for your radio station & have resorted to saying this stuff about my pal Tony Curtis. It's outright defamation of character of a man that's passed away & can't defend himself. Ford, you never even knew Tony to make those hateful comments. He was a wonderful human being, a good man if ever there was one, and a somebody that left his mark on this earth. There will never be another Tony Curtis. You need to say sorry to his children.
I'm a fan of Tony but I agree that his second autobio seemed as if he was embellishing and maybe becoming senile. I don't think it did much to endear his kids to him, especially Kelly and Jamie Lee. However, that doesn't deter from his career achievements. Funny how this guy mentions Eddie Fisher whom I have never had any use for. I'd rather watch Tony's films any day than watch or listen to Eddie Fisher.
