Your inspired my to try the render at low resolution, speed up the zoom technique. Trouble is, with quadrupling the size on the video convserion, the zoom picked up quite a wobble. You can just barely make it out on your video, but on mine its obvious.
Wow! 2^170 is a deep zoom for me. Shame the color acceleration made the details at the end hard to pick out. I wonder how my super stripy palettes would hold up that deep. Good idea keeping the resolution down, that fast a zoom your not going to see the fine details. Why the odd 240x135 size? It doesnt seem to scale nicely to the 480p of the video, perhaps you did the video conversion at 3x (720x305) and Youtube upscaled (again) to 480p.
I save the videos using Fractal Extreme. The size selected is designed to keep the 16:9 ratio, but low enough that I can go deep.
