  • lol

  • will an 18A ESC Work??

  • @TheNeonBrick1 No. Not on a 2200kv motor with a 6x4 prop and a 1500 mAh battery. It will catch fire or even explode!

  • @randomrcstuff wow!! thanx i was just about to fly my finished plane after checking my email u saved my life!!

  • @TheNeonBrick1 Your welcome man.

  • @randomrcstuff so you also watched my lame JB Parody vid please get others to sub to me too please please plaese please plaswe

  • coooool coool @MikeysRC How did u get ur own muppet thingy? Please Reply Please Please Plaes

  • Do you think I can use 2200 mAh 3s lipo with 2200 kv motor on this? I'm concerned about weight. I'm actually trying to convert it to top motor mounted plane as wild hawk. Yes, I will have to work on new CG.

  • @delsol7878 You can use a 2200KV 50ish gram motor with a 6 X 4 prop but the 2200mah battery is too big. Try to use something like a 1500mah

  • @mikeysRC

    Awsome thank you!

  • @MikeysRC

Would you say this is a good plane for beginers?

  • @cubersaywhat Yes, it was designed specifically for beginners.

  • i accidently got like a 3/4" foam sheet will it still be ok or should i return it and get the 1/4'?

  • @starbowser123 Yeah it can work if yuo shave off the leadign and trailin edge of the wing properly so that it make a wing shape and not just a square ching of foam. I don't know what kind of foam you got so make sure it's strong enough to support the plane while in flight.

  • and can you tell me what i have to get for the remote and the recievers

  • @starbowser123 At least a 3 channel radio thought a 4 or 6 chanel raido would be better....not much more expensive and will work form more complicated planes later.

  • im thinking about getting the combo deal and then get the 10x6 propeller and the Black Label 1500mAh 11.1v 20c LiPo Battery will all the wires fit and if they dont what should i do?

  • @starbowser123 I don't know what combo deal you are talking about. BEst way to get help like this is to join my forum and post your questions on there. It's hard to give you much info in a youtube comment box.

  • ok thanks!

  • hey i really want to make this so i was wondering if you could tell us where to actually get all the electricall parts i hav already made all of it without the electronics but now im stuck... please reply, and the plans that i got were free...

well i think it was haha

  • @starbowser123 you can get the parts from hobbypartz (dot) com

  • @MikeysRC i got the dynam/detrum combo deal from them, will be maidening today!(combo came with 4 servos an 18 amp esc and a 1300kv motor that is 37 grams for only 25 dollars!!!!)

  • @codymannthedestroyer That combo is too small for this plane. The specs on the plans call for larger motor and ESC.

  • @MikeysRC yea i realized that... i tried to modify the plane for 2 motors but it wouldnt take off.... do you have any planes that would work for that power setup?

  • OK. Sorry for the nasty tone of my comment, too!

  • Your pdf file that I downloaded before you made it to "pay", adobe reader won't recognize it. I don't mind $1.50 but... I guess it wasn't free after all?

  • @delsol7878 Hmm that's weird. Over all the time I have had the plans avaliable only like 2 people have ever said that. So I don't hink it's my PDF files. Sorry you are haviong trouble.

  • I bought your plans, and I'm looking forward to building this plane. I would only suggest you take off all the links that say "FREE PLANS" all over the place on your video since, they're not really free anymore. I think that the asking price is more than fair, but you're probably going to get a few people crying foul when they see your plans are no longer free.

  • @SplittingAt0ms Yeah removing those words is on my "to do" list.

  • do u reccomend to do the rolls or stability

  • @menetric1 Go for stability if it's your first plane.

  • @MikeysRC

what kind of extra support do i need to make the 6 mm depron more rigid?

  • @NOYKIRSHNER I never build with depron so I'm not exactly sure but probably a couple rods of carbon fiber. One for the wing and one fore the fuselage.

  • Is it possible to buy a 3 channel radio system?how much does it cost?

  • lol why did you use a puppet?

  • Mikey dude ur brilliant! Im not sure I spelled that right?

  • is it possible to add wheeels to teh design and make it take off without having to use hands??

  • @TheMrbcool Sure just go to your local hobby shop and pick up a set of aftermarket wheels and struts and glue'em on.

  • @MikeysRC thank you for answear, 1 last question please, have you got any idea if its possible to build my own RC transmitter and reciver, if yes where would i get circuit diagrams from, thank you

  • @TheMrbcool Well anything is possible but unless you are an electronics expert you will spend more money and LOTS of time trying to accomplish this when you can just buy a transmitter / receiver combo for about $50.

  • @MikeysRC ive been studing electronics for 4 years now, and have all equipment needed, the only part im having problems with is findimg the circuit, so i was just wondering if u had 1 :)

  • @TheMrbcool O, OK. No I don't know of any circuit plans.

  • would it be a problem to use an 1800mah batt?

  • @PeppysPizza No it could handle a battery that size.

  • hi mike, i just finished my sport trainer , i have to say its amazing, the maiden flight lasted about 10 min in a 15mph steady wind, wind chill factor of 28 deg f, this bird is extremely stable and pretty zippy, the motor had a 8x4 prop on it on install and i didnt change it, gonna try 10x6 tommorrow and chek the differences, definatly 5 stars

  • mikey i am in india and it is very difficult to find all these things. so can u make a plane made out of things that are found in india.

  • i only have dollar tree foam board is it gonna be okay for the weight and is it okay to do the main wing in 2 peices because the foam board is not long enough to do it in one peice

  • This plane is sooooooooo cool!! :)

  • @RcWorld7 Hmmm well there are so many motor prop combos. But yeah looks like it will work. Don't quote me on it. Just fly around for a minuet or so do a couple steep climbs and fast passes. Then land the plane and feel the motor and ESC and see if they are too hot.

  • Office depot has big 40X60 sheets for $12.99

  • where do you get ur foam board

  • hey long time no see.i thought you stop making videos.

  • Hi what would be the best servos for around $10 to use on this plane. Sorry im new to rc planes.

  • @TheAdammaka go to hobbypartz dot com and search for 9 gram servos. They are only about $3.00 each

  • @GHANDYTAMASH Electronics

    1000kv 47 gram motor

    10 X 6 propeller

    25-30 amp ESC

    1200-1300mah 15-20C 11.1V li-po battery

    3 9 gram servos

A 2 cell does not have enough voltage to pull the plane around when paired with the other parts I specked above.

  • Thanks I just approved it!

  • I have never done any high heat testing. Id say in general since this isn't a high performance plane and the electronics aren't being pushed too much it should be ok in pretty how conditions.

  • ajhajhajhajhajhajahjah

  • Hi Mikey,

I have finally build it! Couldn't find foamcore so I build it in depron. Added small differences in the wings. I'm still thinking how will I add the wheels... Check it out! Search for youtube ref. MDKsv4o6FgQ

I will try it when the weather gets better. Now there are storms out there...

    Cheers,

    Joaoabs

  • Hello Mikey,

I built this trainer and took it out for a flight. However, I don't think my elevator throw was set correctly, flipped the plane upside down, and promptly crashed into asphalt. Consequently, I scrunched the front part of my fuselage. Is there a good way to strength the fuselage without adding too much weight? Packing tape? Extra bamboo skewers? Thanks so much.

  • see?

  • Hi Mikey,

I'm having problems finding foam-core in Portugal, so I'm trying to find alternatives. Could you please tell me what is the weight per square meter of your foam-core? And what is the recommended range of thickness for it?

    Thanks,

  • I don't know the weight. But it's about 3/16 inch thick.

  • I am planning on building this plane will a battery that is 1250 Mah 11.1V 10C Discharge work or is the discharge to low? Thanks for any response i would save money buying a battery since i have 2 of these from previous aircraft already.

  • Yeah those batteries should be OK to start out with. Might want to use a 9X5 prop with the lower C battery. I have some pretty cheap 1300mah 20C batteries on my site when you are ready to buy.

  • Alright Thanks Mikey, Also got your PM about the Props i Really Appreciate it and you can expect Business from me in the near future, I will be sure to PM you or email you after my first Build and also post a video, Happy Flying. Thomas

  • Hey Mikey, I've built it. I posted a video response but and its in my video list. Please have a look at it and tell me how it is going so far.

  • Awesome vids Mikey! Your step by step guide is very comprehensive!

  • Thank you. Glad you like it. More like this coming soon.

  • i want to burn the puppet !

  • hello mikey..Sport Trainer homemade rc plane Pt 4 is now on the tube..search xittin

  • This plane is great..i have build one and test fly it today..its fly fine as h-----l..tank you so mutch mikey..Fredde From Sweden

  • Hi Fredde,

Thanks for building the plane. I'm glad to hear it flies so well. If you have a chance post a video of it flying for us to see.

    Thanks!

  • search Xittin and then se the sport trainer tha we built :) Fredde

  • yeah, info on the motors and the transmitter would make this series complete!!

  • See side bar for motor info.

  • Cool airplane! What brand and model of motor are you using for the Sport Trainer?

  • Nice job, keep these videos coming.

  • Yet another top video and i have to say i hope to try some scratch builds in the winter and i will be trying out a few different type of plans out and this could well be one of them ;-) 5*

  • after long waiting :) thanx for sharing mikey. love the airfoil tricks. might try it out someday.

  • 3rd one to watch??? D:, nice vid

  • nice job mikey! (^_^)/)

  • first one to watch :)
