it is true the driver might have been oblivious, but the bigger caution should come from the person about to commence the action (street crosser), u dont WALK whilst cars are nearly at ur position, you RUN.
the person crossing should by no means pay 1000% more attention than the driver. Unless you are at a crossing intersection, i blame the crosser.

"1998232v6" whoever you are you are an ignorant fool. Shut your mouth! I was hit by a car walking across Lyndale at 26th on October 1st of 2005 and it almost killed me. That guy who lost his leg has a lifetime of suffering ahead of him, as do I and we were both very carefully and innocently walking across the street when an oblivious driver hit us. People need to pay more attention and have some compassion for other people's suffering.
