  • No wonder Ernie Borgnine is still a youthful 95! He has to be the most honest, optimistic, quick witted amazing sense of humoured human being around. He always sees the good in people and if he is frankly honest; he does it with respect. I treasure everything he says. Back in the 90's he bought a motorhome and took off across America by himself stopping when he would see a farmer working in a field just to chat for one example. Someone should compile a book of people who met Ernie in this way.

  • This was filmed parrtly on 140 Street in the Bronx....Bette Davis accent is the worst Irish EVER,,,,Compare it to Barry Fitsgerald accent ...he is suppose to be her brother in the film....

  • This is Bette's most unappreciated performance (well, maybe next to "Pocketful of Miracles"). Also, a young Debbie Reynolds is surprisingly effective

  • he even looked older aged 54 years ago, the man is a marvel, I love him

  • is "winter meeting" any good?

  • what year was that interview taken in?

  • i love bette davis and looks did not matter so much but i wished she didnt smoke off screen lol she aged so quickly and she was gorgeous!

  • I adore Ernie Borgnine and the lovely Ms. Bette Davis!!! Thanks for posting!

  • how I wish they would release this on dvd - its such a wonderful film

  • Thankyou for this! I just yesterday watched The Catered Affair and loved it. What a wonderful exhibition of talent. Bette Davis is one of my all time favourites, if not THE all time fave! Thanks again!

  • My dear late mother knew both Ernie and Bette, so what a treat to see this! Thanks for posting it!

  • @mrsmagloo "knew both Ernie and Bette? wow...lucky

  • A Catered Affair was one of Bette Davis' best movies. Very underrated. And Ernest Borgnine? One of the very best.

  • Completely agree with you on that one. A Catered Affair is a great move.

  • @koollatter One of Bette Davis' greatest movies really. I wonder why it hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves.

  • Triple LOVE Bette and Ernie! They were both terrific in this film: 'The Catered Affair'

  • Thank you indeed. They don't make 'em like Bette Davis anymore!
