  • why is every time i try to record mine talking video or just leaving my phone on record near them they shut up lol its like they know wat im trying to do! very nice budgie tho love the colours!

  • That's what I call a totally relaxed budgie. Cool and cute to see.

  • i want a budgie on MY nose. SO CUTE!

  • lol

  • He's the king alright if he feels he can be on your nose every night how did that start??

  • Lol I heard him say I'm the king! : D

  • awwh he is a cute little budgie, my budgie always starts whistling when i put this on :D

  • lol 4:46 "hello? hello? hello? *whispers* i love you"

  • I need to find an English Budgie breeder. The American ones are just too small.

  • my budgie does this

  • That is so funny and cute. XD You're just sitting there with this adorable parakeet plopped on your nose. I couldn't stop laughing.

  • Now, wait for the poo...

  • hahah very funny

  • how u get ya parakeets so friendly . i had mines for 2 years and they are still scared of me . ughhhh . ieven when i talk to them they get scared what can i do to fix this problem?.and how u get yours to talk?

  • @bigantbiganthony First off, you usually do the last part of the feeding when they are still very young from the breeders so they can bond with you. They are also much more likely to be super friendly if they are alone, (no other birds) and given lots of attention. The best results probably come from households without small children or other pets so the bird can be more at ease all the time.

  • he is wery cute

  • he is werz cute

  • To the uploader:

Aww, admit it, you like it. You never let him get into the habit otherwise. He even talks! He must be right at home.

Also, you have the most beautiful blue and yellow budgie. I had a blue and yellow when I was a kid, but nothing as vibrant as Sven.

  • Aaww, how cute:)

  • @sarah9884

I've never found this argument to be convincing, because keeping them as pets takes away their freedom as well. In addition, clipping a bird's wing is a quick and painless process when done properly. It results in birds that are generally safer (they don't fly into things, cannot fly away) and easier to tame.

I clip my own bird's wings, but I see no problem in leaving them unclipped either. It really is the owner's personal preference.

  • please help me with taking care of budgies!!!!!!!!

I LOVE SVEN AND FOR ME YOUR THE GREATEST TRAINOR A BUDGIE CAN EVER HAVE! ;D

  • should i clip my budgies wings? so i can hand train them??

It sounds like hes a man! ^_^

    AND has an accent! =D

Sven the man PRAISE SVEN IN HIS CLEVER NESS!

    LOVE YOUR BIRD!

oh and can you teach me to take care of birds? please?

  • it's very hard to hear him over the background noise :()

  • @xxLabrat407xx Yes, but it's the TV that makes him relaxed!

  • @snoogly oh I see - any way to put subtitles? I am fascinated by him and would love to understand what he's saying :)

  • OMG! thats the most beutiful budgie i have ever seen!

  • 0:19 he said F*** you :S

  • Your bird loves you!..You should do some subtitles so we know exactly what he is saying :)

  • hes so cute man!

  • do you clip your birds wings??

  • @cupiecakesareyumify No, never.

  • @snoogly i always clip there wings so they wont hurt themself...

  • @cupiecakesareyumify

you shouldnt clip there wings, Because its like taking away there freedom.

  • @sarah9884 Their flight feathers come back next molt.

  • @snoogly Good idea. One mistake can screw up your bird..... I LOVE SVEN BTW

  • @cupiecakesareyumify what kind of peevert sicko would do that?!

  • BEAUTIFUL BIRD!

  • so, my budgie is about a year old. is it too late to teach him how to talk? and another problem, he doesnt like anyone touching him!!

  • WTFFF sounds like a sadistic Yoda. So cool

  • he has such beautiful colours!!!

  • Did he call you cheeky?!?

  • He's fantastic! What a talkative little chap^_^ And he's very handsome too!

  • haha so cute!!!!

  • is it possible to tame a budgie who lives with two other budgies?

  • @sebfil97 sure, and the others will learn from the bravest

  • I didn't know budgerigar parakeets could learn to mimic speech. Interesting.

  • He's so pretty! And so talkative!

  • He has an interesting color pattern. Very unique and beautiful.

  • Wow you have a very colourful budgie!

  • whoa! A very beautifully colored budgie, indeed~

  • He's a beauty!! And the perch is convenient :D

  • YOUR BUDGIE SWEARS!!!! Oh the shame-lol!!

  • how long have u had ur parakeet??? please answer

  • 4 years now

  • ohhh, and how long did it take for u to teach him to talk?

  • He first said "SVEN" when he was about 1.5 months old. After that, he never stopped babbling. He picked up words here and there, and slowly gradually built up a 'vocabulary'. I think around 6 months old was the time when he repeated almost everything he heard > after that he became more selective, and started constructing his own sentences and phrases.

  • niice, n i got 2 parakeets like a motnh ago n theyre like 6 months old, i THINK, u think they'll learn to talk?

  • thats to cute lol

  • This is soooo adorable, hope he's housebroken though!!! We used to have a parakeet that we named Chicken, he used to be addicted to bugging my dad! He would fly back and forth, land on his hand or arm, steal his playing cards...and so on. It was soo adorable! And no one trained him to go to my dad

  • I had 14 parakeets 10 died in the last 2 years but I still have my first parakeet and I had it for 5 years!!!

  • hope he's housetrained lol

  • man thats annoying! XD

  • Is Sven's wing clipped? And how exactly do you get it tamed? Mine won't stop pecking T.T Lastly, to teach it to talk, do I have to separate one bird from the other?

  • No, not clipped. I didn't formally 'tame' him at all. What I did do was spend as much time with him as possible, from when he was 4 weeks old. I gave him freedom to do what he wanted (within reason!), and supplied him with a large variety of 'toys'. He ignored most, and befriended a few favourites. I just treat him as an individual, and an equal, and he seems to pick up on that, and returns the sentiments. Separating birds might make them talk, but I think it wouldn't be fair to them.

  • @snoogly I love your videos, and your budgie is so smart and cute! But can i ask why he doesn't have another budgie friend?

  • From my experience, 2 or more birds = a hell of a lot of noise. Where I live, noise beyond the level of Sven's talking and singing would get me thrown out of my flat.

I know he would be 'happier' with a friend, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. I do my best to make his 'solitary' life a happy one.

  • @snoogly Oh that's bad.. I know that Sven is a happy bird, when watching your videos, you are playing a lot with him. Even if you could get him a friend, he wouldn't maybe accept it and ignore the other budgie. Still two budgies can't make that much noise. :)

  • Oh yes they can! I sometimes babysit Sven's brother, and the two of them together create decibel levels that could shatter glass! I can't work, and neighbours bang on the (concrete) walls. Maybe in a different kind of home, but I spend all my waking hours in close proximity to Sven, and two birds would be an impossibility.

  • try two peach face love birds. lol. love to get over anything, tv noise, music.

  • what if they poop on ur face?? but the vid iz still cute tho

  • lol thats what i was thinkin

my budgie pooped in my hair before haha

  • wow hes a reagular chatter box lol,,,,,,,,he talks all the time

  • Of Course He Wants To Be On You Nose Because It Is Big!

  • A couple of hours on your nose, I wish you could hear me laughing, I just finished putting my baby birdie to bed, I love her, but it does wear me out, (my two hours before bed too.) On your nose, Thnx for THIS post!

  • Nose, forehead, shoulder, side of my face .... he spends hours there every day now. Often muttering profound comments to me. Preening is a bit annoying, as he takes great delight in dropping feathers behind my glasses.

  • Does his feathers tickle you?

  • That was so cute!

He was being so sweet at the end too!

    I love him!

    :-)

  • aw...thanks for all these..my birds and i are lovin them!

  • Next time turn the blasted boob tube down!

  • Awh n.n My Budgie Duke does that too, only she prefers to perch on my glasses xD

  • they poo once around every 15 minutes

  • does he ever poop on your face? Dx

  • Comment removed

  • What an chatty little bird!

  • i had a blue and white one, Simba, who also like sitting on my nose... especially if I was lying down.

  • I would of laughed so hard if he pooped!

  • me 2

  • I hope he checked the bird for Psittacosis.

  • so cute! You're his bud!

  • I had my reading glasses on and playing the computer my bird flys over and lands on my glasses and just sits there for like an hour it was so funny

  • My budgie has a little lamp on at night like a reading light becuase he cries in the dark and when the lights on hes got a mirror in his cage and i think thats why he wants it on.. when im trying to sleep all i can hear is ooh joe youre so pretty youre so pretty aww cutie pie pretty bird! It drives me crazy

  • That's a BIG budgie!

  • this is just like my budgie, i hate going to work and leaving him he always makes me feel guilty :( im thinking of gettin another one but i dont want mine to stop talking its like having a little person running round the house :D luch colours btw :D

  • I know just how you feel. I just make sure Sven is as comfortable and happy as possible when I am out. Which means giving him the freedom of the house, radio on one room, aircon in summer, perches in every room, and enough lights on so he doesn't fly into something!

  • LOL!!! He's so pretty! And obviously he knows it lol I love how Budgies always tell themselves how pretty they are lol

  • ^^cool

he is alone? or got a partner (bird)

  • I'm his partner - that's why we could bond so well (too well?).

  • Has he met his brother Toby yet?

  • He saw him a few months ago at the vet, and then for a short home visit afterwards. Sadly Sven looked on him with some distain - wondering why he was behaving erratically and very bird-like. Sven can only relate to creatures than speak to him now ...

  • If he poops on your mouth, what are you going to do?

  • It's arre he poops in my mouth, but it often ends up on my chin. I just have to remember to check in the mirror after he's been on there a while. I forgot to once - and opened the front door for the postman. He looked a little shocked ...

  • This is the funniest bird! How adorable, he just loves you and you need to spend every waking hour with them. He's just chatting away.

  • VERY true! The only time I get any rest is after he has gone to bed. Just like kids!

  • cute

  • how do i get my budgie like this, she wont come near me =(

  • absolutely beautiful colors!

  • Is he English or American?

  • Good question! I think he is an 'English' budgie, but he was born in Japan!

  • This is the freakin' cutest thing I've ever seen...He is sooo bonded to you!....I pick up my budgie tomorrow I can't wait! :-)

  • XDDD

  • Oh no! Now I want one!

  • An honest question: how do you go about him going to the bathroom? If you let him roam around freely etc. how do you deal with the excrements? :D

  • A good question! I have 4 or 5 perches hanging around the apartment, and underneath is either newspaper or sheets of clear plastic. As he likes to perch for much of the day, about 70% of his pooh goes safely onto them. Another one is in the bathroom, hanging over the bath.

His main ;living' room has a wooden floor, which has to be cleaned up every few days.

  • Our bird sits on our heads, but i hav never seen one on someone's nose!

  • I think you have to forget about "watching" the news and settle with "listening," provided you can still hear enough over Sven's chattering... !!LOL!! This is a great vid!, and it's too bad it has not garnered many more views. We are honoured that you have posted it as a response to one of ours.

  • Yes indeed, he can ruin my viewing sometimes! Listening to music too - check out 'Cocteau Sven'!

  • Oh he is beautiful! I love his wings.

  • hahaha.... i think he likes sitting on your nose and talking. I know that I used to hate my old budgie, Simba, sitting on top of my head sometimes. He also liked to sit on our faces if we lie down

  • is he chattering while on ur nose?

  • do talking budgies still chirp?

  • Yes- though Sven has his own vocabulary of chirping and whistling too. He is very happy when we harmonize,

  • Quit the talker. Really like his coloring ... very unique.

  • corrly? XD

  • ur lucky!!!

  • thats not a buggie. thats a parkeet. i have a the same 1.

  • Budgie = parakeet.

    Same thing.

  • no, you're right, Its not a "Buggie" but it IS a budgie. Besides, Budgerigars, Budgies and Parakeets are the same thing. Parakeet is the name of the group of birds in which budgies belong.

  • why does he stay on your nose for? and how did you train it so that it lets you hold it and stuff like that? i have a yellow PARAKEET. and she only hops on my finger but when i try to bring her out of the cage she hops off. and a parakeet and a buggie is a different bird. they look nothing alike.

  • A budgie is always a parakeet but a parakeet isn't always a budgie.

    Get it?

  • no and a budgie is a different type of bird and a parakeet is a different type of bird. and i dont get what you were saying. how did you train your bird?

  • Parakeets are a GROUP of birds, budgies belong in that group. Thats why some people call Budgies Parakeets---I can't think of any clearer way of explaining it!

  • ok whatever i dont have to explain myeself to you. but i have a question. HOW DID U TRAIN YOUR "BUGGIE"

  • No training really. Just gave him love and lots of attention since he was a few weeks old. For some reason my nose is very attractive to budgies - my last bird used to spend a lot of time on there too.

  • ooooo ok well i caught my parakeet out side other bird were chaseing it so i caught it and now it lives with us. she is a bright yellow color. anyway the only thing she knows how 2 do is when i stick my hand in her cage she hops on but when i try 2 bring her out of the cage she hps off. she dosent let me take her past the cage door. do you have any tips? and yes i do love my birdy! she is my little baby. haha is there like any class i can take her 2 or something? please help!

  • Absolutely adorable. That budgie is going to start reciting the news to you. You are a very patient daddy.

  • omc! "hello hello? i love you" hahahahah im teaching my budgie to talk :)

  • oh wow! i think i heard him say I love you!! towards the end...also hello hello

  • Beautiful bird !!!

  • Beautiful bird !!!

  • Oh my gosh! He's talking! What the heck is he saying?!?

  • He's reporting his own version of the news- lol ;)

  • awesome bird, man

  • He is sweet. Did you get him at a petstore?

  • Yes - when he was just 3 weeks old.

  • How old is he now?

  • My parakeets are two years old! HAHAHA NOOB YOU GOT PWN3D!

  • very nice color (the budgie... hi hi hi )

  • saweet

  • Stunning golden face, and he obviously trusts you a lot or he wouldn't even want to get that close to you. Well done :)

  • I love it just so cute . Aww a lay off the poop cracks people You got to love budgies to let them sit on your nose and I can see sven loves snoogly and the other way around also lol he just wants someone to watch the news with lol

  • omg doesnt he poo on your face?

  • Yes - but usually I 'see it coming' and make sure it doesn't do too much damage!

  • Cheeky! So happy to see you!

  • Watch out! He'll poop in your mouth!
