I dearly want to see this film! It looks so inspiring. As in that, fight for your freedom. I believe in communication though and not war. Anyhow, these men fought for their freedom, and no words can express how powerful that is! R.I.P Union men, no matter what color you are! You fought for what was right.
Robert knew winning this battle was going to be a long shot. ut he had balls to challenge that fort that never lost a battle. greatest was movie ever hands down awesome cast as well
I like the juxtaposition at the end with just the quiet whistling in the song amidst all the craziness of cannon balls blasting them and men falling all around them in their wild charge on the fort. It's a cool contrast that for some reason really works. Nice job.
Robert had balls that was the best movie to I would love to be one of those people watching that battle back then Watching all thosemen fighting for there lives for freedom!
they did it at bull run the union people but when they saw the union retreat then they got scared and left but if u think its cool then join a civil war reenacting group i did its funn
I teach junior US History. This video is shown in the class. I have never had a student dislike the movie, nor have I seen a poorly written reflection essay written. I have seen tears from some of the tough football players though.
I am not a Matthew Broderick fan, but I must say that he did a most excellent job in this role. I really felt the Academy did him a disservice in not nominating him for an award that year.
Glory is without doubt the best movie about the civil war. Nothing to touch it. I read an interview with Morgan Freeman after he made Glory and Driving Miss Daisy. The interviewer wanted to talk about Driving Miss Daisy but Morgain wanted to talk about Glory. He was obviously proud of it.
Great awesome movie, but totally wrong song to use, the "Wind of Change" song is about the fall of communism is Russia and the fall of the Berlin Wall, nothing to do with the Civil War.
my ancestor william boothe taliaferro was in command of the battery but i have to say there's a fine line between valor and stupidity and this was stupidity good luck taking that fort hell yea rebels!!!
Somebody goofed filming this movie. The ocean should be on the right side of the fort, not the left. The 54th Massachusetts never won a battle but showed they could fight. Any man willing to die for a cause, is good with me, regardless of black or white. I'd take my hat off to the old 54th.
@rebel2276 Amen. I cried watching it in american studies. I can't belive what people do to each other for no real reason. I hate war, I love this movie.
@yaoiluvr007 I've been in the US. Army for Twenty-Eight years and I don't care if your white, black, pink or purple, a bullet, I.E.D, RPG, landmines, trip wires do not care about your skin color. I thank every soldier of all colors that put on a American uniform in all wars.
@rebel2276 .I saw a recording of an interview with an Northern Irish Veteran of the 1st World,He told of how both Religious could not have been closer in the Hell they were in,He broke down saying how heartbroken they would be if they saw what was happening in the North of Ireland.

this war is so sad, but yet interesting.
Its sad because our country was literally self destructing itself.
hats off to the 54th!

Highly recommend you do see it, one of the most powerful films ever created...more so because its a true story.
In memory of those who gave their lives so others may live free.
