Yes, The lionfish are not natural to Belize or the Caribbean. They were introduced when a aquarium broke in Miami after Hurricane ANDREW. The lion fish have been eating up the juvenile fish on the reef. At first the Belize government was paying people to kill the lion fish. Now they found that it is great eating so people are catching them for food. They only have one enemy that is the grouper so they protected the grouper.
