  • 300x? Than this isn't full field of view. But good to know :)

    Thank you for answer.

  • @0805Alan This video was recorded using a digicam that has its own optic zoom apart from that provided by the eyepiece.

  • Nice :)

    How much magnification it was?

I have 10" dob (GSO) and max I used was 500x and that happend just once while the atmosphere was calm and steady. What the look it was! Amazing!

  • @0805Alan probably around 300x, I don't remember exactly

  • Great picture of Clavius.I don't have so clear picture through my 8" scope but is close to quality, and it is only a snapshot from avi hd video :)

  • hey that is my clavius (just kidding)

  • look like one of the cropcircles on earth.

  • What is that 5 circle under the big crater at 0:18

  • @Gilonta These are creterlets inside the big one called Clavius

  • You had mention earlier that you know of at least 3 other Anomalies that you have tracked on the lunar surface. Can you share their locations? have just purchased a Celestron 2X Barlow Ultima SV Series lens that is Fully Multi-Coated. I also bought a Meade 3X B&W V-Cam. I don't know if this will be enough to catch the object in view, but if I use the combination of the two and be patient with the focusing, I might be able to catch the object in question.

  • I appreciate your response. In 2005 I purchased a Meade LX200 12 which includes a nice GPS, & Tracking System. I do have a good set of lenses, but not enough to get the view of the moon as I would like. I have considered either a 2X or 3X Barlow lens or a Video Cam. What do you recommend or suggest?

  • @99stargalaxy For visual, a barlow 2x and a 14mm wide field eyepiece. For imaging, a barlow 3x, 4x, or even 5x.

  • What a great little your! My usefull maximum is 225x magnification. Plenty to be honest :)

  • @ParaglidingManiac Todays date is the 12th of May 2010. Have you notice if this structured anomaly is still there on Claivus Crater?

  • @99stargalaxy,

Check out the Moon a couple of days ago. It's still there. To be honest, I have pointed three spots of interest on the Moon. Every single one of them is rewarding it self with anomalies :)

  • Nice, I am waiting for my 8" Lightbridge to arrive ;)

  • This is a good scope

  • Yeah I am waiting for my 16 inch, I probably have 4 more weeks left

  • Enjoy it. It is a powerful telescope. Be patient at first: collimation and getting sharp images is hard at the beginning.

  • i'm thinking of getting the orion 8" dob with object locator

  • Great idea. This Dob are powerful instruments, but they require a bit of patience.

  • Cool, what scope/EP's did you use?

  • This is a 400mm Dobsonian Newton reflector from Meade: Model Lightbridge 16"

  • Fascinating. Too bad the Moon doesn't rotate around it's ax.

  • Actually it rotates around its axis, but at the same speed that rotates around the Earth, showing us always the same topography.
