  • sounds like its a cilinder leak, or it mite be coming from the link from steam cheast to the cilinder. glad u got it sorted

  • Hey just a question did you get the steam leak sorted?I have a Mallard set and suddenly a similar problem has occurred. The wheels set off in motion rapidly but quickly decrease in speed and a small amount of steam seems to be coming from the piston?

  • hey josh this is Dylan Palombo from the Uninted States. I love the silver link. I was about 10 or 11 years old when iI was watching thomas thetrain and I saw a very fast steamer named spencer from the UK I think and iI reasaerched it and he was based off of the silver link and ever since iI fell in love with that steamer. So i was wondering if you got it fixed.

  • I'm pleased for you mate..Take care...

  • @loco6607 yes it been fixed, i will shortly be uploading a video of silver link running. thank you for the comment.

  • did you get it fixed mate?

  • @loco6607 yeah, and its brilliant it runs better then when i brought it,thanks for the comment :)

  • josh how much was it?

  • @MegaGlenn1234 altogether around £ 300

  • if you send it 2morrow or Monday you will get it back by the end of next week

  • hello josh still not working since tuesday trying to get it working

off to hornby would be the best option

  • Hi Josh, what I think has happened is that the timing has got out of kilter. This is usually caused by holding the lever over for too long and the motor inside (that whirring noise) has slipped out of sync with the steam chest.

It's back to Hornby I'm afraid. They are good at repairing and returning them quickly.

    Best of luck, Tom

  • @Tomlan2007 thankyou very much tom. im gna get it sent off ASAP thanks

  • Thats amazing, never knew this sort of live steam was available. I love the controller

  • @leokimvideo its brillaint when its working.. if you go onto the hornby website and look for live steam im sure you'll find flying scotman, mallard and others, thankyou for the comment.

  • its possible that the seal has gone in the piston or the screw on the piston has come loose which is allowing the the steam to escape...best bet is to send it back to hornby

  • @CHRISPATCH69 oh ok but thankyou very much for leaving a comment. yeah im going to send it off as its easier because if i do it may end up being worse.

    thankyou
