  • I wish they would have included the often forgotten verses, " the fish don't fry in the kitchen, the beans don't burn on the grill"

  • @rntonp Very Funny asshole!

  • @rntonp maybe if you went through what they went through you'd forget it too.

  • @rntonp haha that some funny shiz "took a whole lot of trying, just to get over that hill" haha the forgotten verses were classic ahaha

  • I wish that people would simply sing the great patriotic songs in simple arrangements, without complicated or too loud renditions. Let's hear them simply, without any ragged passages or bawling: the National Anthem, the Negro National Anthem, America the Beautiful.

  • THIS IS HORRIFIC!!!!!!

I have never sat and laughed so hard at something so terrible!.....lol I have come to tears. This is ridiculous. Who is playing the piano?...lol It's obvious that the conductor could not get the choir anywhere else and took the mercy of a Jewish church. I would like to apologize to those poor old people for sitting through this! I am sure Roland Carter nor J. W. Johnson intended for this to sound this way. Please research this song and TRY AGAIN!!!!

  • i like how they song this piece, but when they got to "god of our weary years" it was a little messy, and that was an important part of this piece i wish he had worked it more

  • The Rabbi asked the choir to sing "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing". As for the "real" national anthem, we did not sing it at this event,

  • What happened to the real national anthem. The one that honors EVERY AMERICAN?

  • Why can't all races have their own version if they so desire? Isnt America multicultural

  • We are a multicultural society, but its members care little about others unless its to further their own cause. I have seem mecha use the image of Malcolm X but then its members still call black people mayates. The problem is that we don't come together as one people, everyone having their anthem based on race would only cause us to become more intolerant of others. Imagine what would be the outrage if white people had an anthem?

  • White people do have their own anthem, it's called the "Star Spangled Banner." When they stared singing that song, they didnt include everyone. Thats why blacks made their own song. Do you know what they would do to blacks back then if they were caught singing that song?

  • That may be true to an extent, but in a society that is suppose to accommodate to every single cultural group, you will have issues arise out of all these groups clinging to their own. I'm well aware of all the injustices in the past but you are not going to have a separate red cross for every "racial" group; are you, just because it too was originally started by white people for white people?

  • If they want too, why not? You know it's true what they say about "What goes around comes around." I can see whites being treated like trash and abused in the future as their population continues to dwindle and become the minority everywhere they live. I can see every race ganging up on them, and doing bad deeds to them. They have made their beds, and now unfortunately their descendants will lay in it (blame your ancestors for that). I can't name a race that likes the white Europeans.

  • That's fine and I don't believe that it will ever come to that. The problem is that we keep looking at others as OTHERS, which you are also doing. The thing is that we are all human and we need to work together, not the other way around. I'm Mexican so I don't have a stake in this but I am objective towards the issue. Furthermore, those same races that don't like whites, also don't like each other. The film 'Crash' is an excellent representation of the complexities of race. I'm done, peace.

  • I agree, however, please know that when the "Star Spangled Banner" was written, it was intended for every American. Slaves, or anyone that looked of African decent, were not considered American. Also, there are more verses to the poem that most Americans don't know. So why do Americans get bent out of shape over "Lift Every Voice and Sing", that when listened to, applies to all Americans and not just African-Americans? Please let's do our history before we sit on youtube and judge!

  • Dang, are you jealous of T.W.Alexander?

How about you come to rehearsal monday and say what you have to say....

  • You know, I can't be harsh about the choir, it's the conductor who trains so perhaps it is he who has done a disservice by presentation. You guys could and should have use some wood shedding on these pieces, maybe 2 more months of intense work would have been better. Everything is so loud and pushed. Dynamics weren't mistakes written in the music, they were intentional....

  • Hun you know nothing about this choir!! Boo ppl come out of the butt to pay to get this choir to go places!! so dnt judge cause this choir is wonderful!! Thanks alot!!

BTW! Alexander is one of the best conductors this world has ever seen!! so get wit it!!

  • Not only is your use of Hun showing your immaturity but lack of class to sing this piece. When you work it up, post it then, otherwise realize that you never know who will show up and tell you how skilled you're not!

  • Do not insult my intelligents! Trust and believe me my vocabulary is way more than you can ever comprehend!! also trust and believe Im more mature than you will ever be!! Stop smucking on the choir!! If you dont know what that mean! LOOK IT UP! YOU ASSAYED!!
