@AntiFanBoy1 ohhh poor steve davis he lost 6-0n at premier league , you gay son of a bitch antishitboy go fuck yourself with higgins and davis suck them and play at mosconi cup like a big shit exactly what you are a big and dry shit.
Haha, I love how everybody is laughing at Steve's conservative break-off, and the frame he decides to do it the orthodox way, Ronnie pots a red in the next shot xD
FOUL!!! Ronnie moved the outside red (in his first 'address') when playing away after Davis' break off shot!!
Check it out at 0.51". I thought it was a trick of the light at first but it definitely moves!! Don't tell me he deliberately cheated! I guess it's just a friendly game. Still, rules are rules.
@FKXSATO It moved before the tip touched it. Use the slider ont he player, and you'll see that the ball fell into a tiny dent of where the balls are always racked up. :)
i like both players....but Steve is definetly funnier than Ronnie.
i saw Steve Davis live last month when he attended a small tournament in my hometown.....it was HILARIOUS !!!! so funny jokes....tried to pay the referee or when he made a bad shot he did like he pukes on the table^^....awesome
@biscuitnbunny he was unlucky it was a "touching ball" a couple of times, but its hard to get the cue-ball back in the baulk without breaking up the cluster from there ;)
You do realise that is one of the EASIEST breaks there are? Thats not skill, and the ony thing to controll is power, where as on a streight norall break you gotta work for position behind the balkend
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
FUCK steve davies and FUCK his negative break off shot and his whole negative fucking play, he makes the game boring.. why cant he play an attacking safety shot instead of the stupid ass roll up he always does, it achieves nothis doing it none stop i mean what is he hoping for in doing it? he deserved to get beat 6-0 by playing stupid shots like that.
Poor Steve. It must be hard to go from being the best player in the world to looking like a mug against the younger generation. In his prime, on a very good day, he'd give ronnie a run for his money.
because if the cue ball is touching a red ball, touching ball is called. this enables ronnie to play away from the pack with no penalty because the red does technically come into contact with the cueball during the course on his shot
tomloia is right...but i have to add that when "touching ball" is occured this doesn't only enable a player to play away from the ball but force him to do it..
I'm not a Ronnie fan at all, but I just love seeing him amused! We don't see him laughing too often, but when he does it just lightens up your mood! :D
I'm quite happy to see someone trying something new; at least we're not seeing the same predictable shots.
Steve's new method leaves no pot afterwards and, if the white stays close to but not touching the bottom of the pack, leaves a difficult return to baulk. If, as we saw here, the white does stay touching, a return to baulk is easy.
Play the orthodox break and often a pot is left, sometimes even a winning break is made. Attacking play certainly but is it always the correct tactic?
As much as I like steve davis as a character, i find that style of play pretty pathetic. Ronnie took it in good humour because the premier league is a bit more relaxed, but i saw davis do this in a ranking tournament as well, and by breaking off that way, it's basically an admittance that he can't live with the top players any more. If that's the case, then maybe he should call it a day. No wonder darts is winning the battle with snooker when you see play like that!
to itinter: cause its a touching ball.... the white is TOUCHING the red, so sullivan does not have to hit a red as the white is touching the red already...
I love the Premier League, but its really fucking dumb that Mark Selby didnt get invited this year.
Last year he finished top of the group stage and he was runner up, in his first year in the competition. I will still watch it, for Ronnie, but its really fucking pissed me off that move.

Personally I love watching snooker..but I think Steve Davis doesn't take it seriously anymore..he gets whipped by everyone he plays..he is too concerned by positional shots and strategy than actually playing..it was funny for the first few times but then it got irritating..!
It was an experiment, that was all. He had to try something as his long potting is understandably not what it used to be while the long game of the likes of Ronnie and Neil is getting better all the time. It was a failed experiment but I say good on him for having the balls to try it.
i thought the same thing one game last prem league he looked like hed had something most def and here....there was something resonating within him some kind of toxic thing lol
Hi Jake, I looked very very closely and I agree that the red moved, but if you look very very very closely, you'll see that it "settles", it's not struck. It moves BEFORE Ronnie's cue could possible come in contact with it.
As the balls are touching, he is already deemed to have struck it so no foul. In fact, if he disturbs the ball touching the cueball, it's a foul (push stroke).
Well spotted, it definitely moves, but it wasn't Ronnie's doing. I've had this happen many times over the years. It's just a case of the ball "settling". Most likely caused by the tension in his fingertips on the cloth while bridging.
I saw Steve Davis playing pool 9 ball against Alex Pagulayan and honestly I thought that he was amateur . Actually, he made a bunch of big mistakes in that match. Now I get to know that he is a great snooker player. Really methodical and careful of him !
Premier League is never shown in our country, so i don´t really understand. The ref says "final break", can they only play six frames at the most? What happen if the score says 3-3?

when davis breaks, and then it's sullivan's turn, sullivan doesn't hit. so why isn't it a foul?

because the refree called a "touching ball" meaning @ the start of Ronnies short, he's deamed to have hit the object ball (the red)

its a touching ball. so because its touching he can just hit it away and its classed at hitting the red.
