If you take the time to look at the stage,it's impressively faithful to the original Sonic the Hedgehog.The rings,the platforms,the checkpoint,the loop with the HD remade extra life on the top,the spikes,the bridges,not to mention the background...it's amazing.What a shame that Nintendo knows more about classic Sonic than Sega.

That is really cool! the authentic 16 bit look but with a 3d twist! the Sonic CD theme is far more appropriate for this kind of game, the original Green hill zone theme would have been too laid back for such intense action!

Anyway, if Sonic's an unlockable, then the stage probably comes with him. Like, when you get Sonic in the SE, or or something in Classic mode, which is probably how I got it...I don't know why I'm bothering to answer this. XD
