Because it would be suspecious if 3 children were seen with a man wich looked like them . And it would be really hard carrying three children without being seen and waking them up and the twins would be screaming and crying more than Maddie since they are only 2 , although Madeleine is more mauture and was nearly 4 years old , since she as older she probally wouldn't cry that much and the twins have this thing can tell what might happen to the other twin like pain or something

I think the Find Madeleine fund has interviewed the man , but you see after that information was released we don't know anything more about it. Sometimes its takes a good few months to atually confrom if Madeleine is in America.
