I've said this before, but this album doesn't really show Mike's true talent like Ten does. He goes shitfuck crazy on EvenFlow. On the Mad Season album it seems like Mike tried give his best Jerry Cantrell impersonation.
@ComaAlpha Layne and Eddies vocals were quite different. Layne was more on the high end and Eddie was baratone. So the guitars have to change to suit. He wasnt imitating Jerry.
This is a fantastic song by a fantastic group of musicians. Layne Staley showed how truely versitile he was as an artist while working with Mad Season.

yeah, but this music helped a lot of people. Definitely helped me during difficult times. I think it's a mistake to believe that bands of this era didn't know what they were doing or what they wanted. They signed the pens too. No one forced them to sign massive record deals. Jerry said that Layne was never afraid to be a rock star, so I don't think he would regret the success. It's a shame he did drugs, but what's done is done.
The grunge scene made the entire music industry better, nuff said.

You must not forget that time doesn't stand still. We can sit sadly and think of the past, but look around you and you'll find out there is music everywhere. Grunge is some kinda dead, but that's because now it's '08, not '94. When I look in my hometown (Groningen, Netherlands) there are so many great guitarists and musicians, but they all look at the past: blues, jazz, hardrock. I know at least one person who complete adept to Metal: Joe Satriani, he's amazing! Check it out!
Great, great song. The drums and percusion opening and a great guitar riff, guitarist worked well, cause we don't listen these kind of riffs on PJ songs. Mad Season was a unique band with amazing musicians.

I think it's a mistake to believe that bands of this era didn't know what they were doing or what they wanted. They signed the pens too. No one forced them to sign massive record deals. Jerry said that Layne was never afraid to be a rock star, so I don't think he would regret the success. It's a shame he did drugs, but what's done is done.
The grunge scene made the entire music industry better, nuff said.

keep your head held high, good music is to come. look at the pop culture that happened in the earlier years... most of it really sucked. i just consider it another one of those decades. 2010 comes around, we might hear something good.

Grunge is alive now more than it was before. It was co-opted by corporate America in the mid to late 90s and destroyed. Now it belongs to those for whom it was truly intended.
I mean, what would Cobain have thought about "smells like teen spirit" being played during a high school basketball game shootaround circa 1996?

i agree, the damn media really fucked layne over though. its why i absolulely hate the media. the media is te reason why so many stupid white kids in america listen to rap music. and if it wasnt for the media layne would be still alive, fuck the media. its sad cuz i always talked about alice in chains and grunge music in my school. there was one kid who liked alice in chains out of a school of about 800 kids.

Grunge is mostly dead, apart from what Kelsiiik said, Pearl Jam and Mudhoney is still there, but now it's all new metal, emo etc, it's just not the same...

You must not forget that time doesn't stand still. We can sit sadly and think of the past, but look around you and you'll find out there is music everywhere. Grunge is some kinda dead, but that's because now it's '08, not '94. When I look in my hometown (Groningen, Netherlands) there are so many great guitarists and musicians, but they all look at the past: blues, jazz, hardrock. I know at least one person who complete adept to Metal: Joe Satriani, he's amazing! Check it out!

Great, great song. The drums and percusion opening and a great guitar riff, guitarist worked well, cause we don't listen these kind of riffs on PJ songs. Mad Season was a unique band with amazing musicians.
