@89pharmacist Are you serious? That's like saying a k20 in an EF Civic is a waste of a k20, or an LS7 in a third gen F body is the waste of an LS7. This is kick ass
@omid11 and shoot yourself in the foot? you can make more power without touching the bottom end with a 1jz then a rb26. the rb26 is a weak motor, just need to look at the proven facts. i like rb26s but they are junk compared to a 2jz. the toyota options are far stronger and more reliable from factory.
got a quick question, its pretty hard to find a 2jz-gte motor here, is the 2jz in the lexus sc300 got the same engine mounts as the 2jz-gte supra, i know it might sound dumb but i want to make sure just in case i cant find a supra motor..
@jeffp0477 you can order a 2jz-gtte from JDM online for around 2000-3000 bucks plus shipping the 2jz-gtte does not come in a lexus sc300 it comes in the toyota soarer the japanese version not sold in the U.S. but they sell coversion kits for them such as front rear emblems so on and so forth from anywhere from $35 to $2,900 but its worth the envestment
@camryclubofcasper 2jzgte was NEVER used by toyota under the soarer name. 1jzgte = jzz30 and 2jzge = jzz31. 2jzgte only ever came in aristo and supra.
siick car dude, thinking about buying an old mx73 and swapping a 1jz-gte or a 7m-gte into it. how much did this whole set up cost you? buying the 2jz putting it in etc?
would be pretty hard to find a decent 7m. Unless you are going to rebuild it and fix the head gasket issue. But you could probably find a decent 1jz that wouldn't need rebuilding. End up being cheaper produce more power. The 7m would be an easier fit though. If it's the extra 500cc ur concerned about the 2jz shits all over the 7m. And in real terms so does the 1jz even though its a smaller motor. Also consider the 1uz. Bullet proof capable of producing even more if you have the bucks
yeah i did some research after i posted here, love the x81's and 83's now as well, such nice cars! I just love having that whole idea of having a 3 litre turbo, also once the head gasket has been replaced by say a MHG how many horses would she be capable of on stock internals? Maybe when i have got a bit more money i will invest in a 1uz but right now just loving the thought of a turbo for the moment :)
One more thing! hahaha any ideas about the wiring? i have seen pictures of dudes with about a mountain of wiring heaped up splicing them all and such. Just thinking would it be possible to just skip that step and replace the whole harness with say a 7M one or a 1JZ one depending on what engine i end up choosing? i know there might be some hassles with the speedo and such but could it be done? and would it be an easier job than splicing and such? cheers
Unlike so many ppl on the net I won't pretend to know something i don't. All I can tell you is the 7m-gte bolts straight in but still needs to run the turbo computer. The 1jz needs modification to fit into the engine bay (engine mounts etc). The 1jz is easily capable of 200rwkw on stock turbo. I got a Powerfc which replaces the stock computer just plugs in and with exhaust done the 1jz got to 200rwkw. Cheap power. The 7m because of the head gasket issue isn't as popular for mods.
@dre1507 The ONLY ignorant one is clearly you. The fact you can perfectly see i didnt say they sucked AT ANY POINT.
I said you are ignorant and contradict yourself. LIKE NOW since YOU CANT READ PROPERLY. Please show me the exact line i said how 90's Toyota's suck? Oh you cant, since i never said it. Go back to school or something.
And i am so sure that, if you were 6 years old, you Toyota wasn't on your mind... You were too worried about the new "Barbi" and "My little pony" toys to bother.
dude i'm so sorry. i didn't even realize i was replying to the wrong person. i saw "mjns123" comment and clicked to reply to his but somehow youtube popped yours up and i got caught up in going back and forth that i didn't realize. Totally sorry man. one big mistake. i'm deleting all my comments to you as i type this because it's pointless to leave them up, because they're all one big mistake. lesson learned = make sure youtube doesn't screw you over before you start typing.
honestly i don't even know how youtube has me replying to you when i clicked on mjns123. i don't even see any of your comments, besides the ones to me, on the first page. Anyways, i'm totally sorry man. Man i feel like an idiot now, lol.

So sorry to state, you only know 2nd hand, versus actually growing up with them.
