  • Do you even know what neoconservativism is outside the Iraq war? It's an entire political ideology of its own, rich with nuance and variety, and has some of the smartest conservatives in it.

"Neocon" is a caricature that doesn't do justice to the real ideology.

  • keep working on physics, you don't understand politics yet

  • "...and has some of the smartest conservatives in it."

That's a naked argument from authority. Proponents of the Iraq war assumed it was Saddam who was the root cause of the brutality that was perpetrated in that nation, when in fact it is the faith of the people who inhabit it (Islam) that ultimately causes it. Removing dictators from nations whose inhabitants are just as willing to tolerate/commit brutality solves nothing. Democracies in such nations only lend power to these same people.

  • This is the problem I have with neoconservatism: it tries to fight ideological battles with military force. Removing Saddam did not bring Western values (ultimately more important that being democracy) to Iraq because its inhabitants never had any reason to accept them, especially those who stand to lose the most (i.e. men). Islam affords men the God-given right to commit atrocities against women and to deny them basic human rights: why would giving them a democracy solve this problem?

  • Take Afghanistan as an example: their democracy nearly brought into law a clause that would allow men of a particular sect to rape their wives. What difference is it if a dictator enforces such a law instead of it being brought into force by a democracy? And you may argue that the Taliban are no longer in power, and that that has saved the lives of many, and I would agree. But so many parts of Sharia would have people killed for so many frivolous offenses (to our minds) that it is a moot point.

  • OK bashing neocons for controlling the republican party is a little silly if one does not even know what neoconservativism is all about. I happen to be a neoconservative and there's nothing wrong with it. And if you think going to Iraq was bad. Just remember that we need to fix the middle-east sooner or later. If they the region is not dominated it will continue to cause trouble like it always does.

  • "We" need to control the middle-east??

Are you volunteering? Get your gun,,, be ready for a lot of hot weather and a lot of sand. And being surrounded by hostile Arabs...

  • Sorry I was thinking of joining the military, but happen to have certain medical conditions that prevent it.

In any case the "chickenhawk argument" is an a ad hominem fallacy. An arguers decision to go to the military or not is not relevant to determining if his argument for a certain war is valid or not.

  • "Your man in shining armor, Ron Paul, opposed impeachment. He refused to even consider it..."

Not that I exactly like Ron Paul, but no sensible individual was in favor of impeachment. A bipartisan majority of Dems and Reps both opposed it. The only people in favor of it were nuts like Conyers, Kucinich or some of the crazy moonbats on the internet.

  • Hey dude...here is a tip:

I couldn't make it past the first 2 seconds of this video before turning off the volume at this stupid video. Next time you want to make a video dude...at least make it more exciting..even if the contents is still trash. That way...we MIGHT get through all of it.

  • Hey kid,

here is a tip... don't bother to comment... Try commercial television - it's exciting lots of noise, music, pretty colors, flashing lights... kind of like cartoons and comic books.. When you get real good: Make your own GREAT VIDEO.... your stupid comment goes into the trash bin...

  • HUH??? Kid? You obviously have as much clue about me as you do as Republicans...lol. And...psstt...I have made great videos...go to my channel...my latest is the BILLIONS one...

And...ppss...it does have lots of noise, music, pretty colors and flashing lights. *wink*

  • John Stossel ROCKS!!!

    So does Mickey Mouse Television!!!!

    Rock on Dudette...

Viva Ron Paul, Viva the Republicans!!!

  • You know it!!!

There is a new brand of Republicans in town. ;)

  • LOL...

that's what the Log Cabin Republicans kept thinking

You and the other Paul-heads better shoot for 2016, I think Palin and the Mike Huckster have 2012 sowed up; Keep that blimp in storage though!!

  • He's right, you're shitty at making videos.

  • The Neocons do currently rule.

But I am suspecting a vast increase in Theocon power.

  • You are horrible at making a point. Nothing you said made any sense. There are thousands of Republicans in the Republican party but you rattle off 20 and claim that Ron Paul would be the only one left. Huh??

And are you saying there is no such thing as a Neo-Con? If so, who are they?

  • I am a right-winged Republican, but I HATE the neocons.

  • the democratic party was a mess too after that kerry debacle. the real republicans are gone except for maybe jack kemp & a few others. fuck 'em, let 'em die off. maybe then, we can get things right

  • Not a single Democrat in the Project for the New American Century.... !?!?!??!?!?

what are you doing in 2012???

  • in '12 i'm voting for the best candidate. if all goes well, that'll be the incumbent. again, i'd vote for jack kemp & have a clear conscience. i'm from chicago, i liked jim thompson, jim edgar & george ryan as governors & they were all GOP guys. goldwater was cool as hell too. but the preponderance of GOP guys are knuckleheads. what's worse, mccain's campaign got pretty racist toward the end. i was severely disappointed because mccain he was pretty cool (except for how he handled MLK day)

  • The Republican party is rotten to the core...

Many are pushing Sarah Palin for 2012...

    YUCK!!

  • nah, they ain't all bad. BUT, i'd love to say palin run. that's like NBA vs frosh-soph. let those fools trot out that bimbo. i'm licking my chops already

  • Ralph...most smart Republicans want Dr Ron Paul. Do your homework.

  • LOL!!!!

"Smart" Republicans are only a tiny fraction of the entire Republican party....

  • "Smart Republicans are only a tiny fraction"

Bill Kristol is a smart republican, as are Harvey Mansfield,John Yoo,and Paul Wolfowitz.Kristol graduated summa cum laude from Yale in only three years and is now a professor at Harvard. As for me I consider myself to be a smart republican as well. Afterall I'm a physics major with an IQ of 156. So don't insult our intelligence. Besides after the nonsense you pulled with Obama you complete forfeit the right to use the "stupid hick" label ever again.

  • These Bushies are all arrogant and incompetent and surprisingly uninformed - just look at the failure of Bush administration.

  • " 'Smart Republicans are only a tiny fraction'

"Bill Kristol is a smart republican, as are Harvey Mansfield,John Yoo,and Paul Wolfowitz."

Granted, they are intelligent, educated people, I won't deny that. Well done on naming four such Republicans, point well made.

  • Cant...you sent me this video...but I don't understand your point with this ridiculous video. I don't care for most of these people that went into Iraq for the wrong reasons and I am a proud REPUBLICAN. So this STUPID video proves NOTHING about Republicans. All it proves is that the smell of desperation is coming from you.

  • If you voted for George Bush in 2000 or 2004, you have blood on your hands...

Your party is led by a bunch of war criminals and liars

    your party is disgusting...

  • And if you didn't do everything in your power to get him impeached...you also have blood on your hands..so don't play innocent. YOU are just as guilty dude. PERIOD. And no...my party is not disgusting....just a few that have made it that way.

  • Whatever. Trying to impeach him would have just gave the republicans more power. It would have failed and the democrats would've looked bad.

  • Dudette,

Your man in shining armor, Ron Paul, opposed impeachment. He refused to even consider it...

And Republicans would have blocked impeachment in the Senate.

And the Dems would have had to impeach both Cheney and Bush simultaneously, something which was hotly debated among us liberals.

And by the way, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not my hero - I don't do video after video proclaiming her heroine status. On the other hand, Pelosi did vote against Bush's war.

Your party sucks, it lies to all

  • "Your party sucks, it lies to all"

Plato once said something to the effect that there are three kinds of people men who love wisdom, men who love honor and men who love pleasure.Which kind do you want on top in a society?Which kind does a democracy put on top? That's right the most vulgar. Thus to maintain a well-managed society under those circumstances you need leverage and deception produces leverage. And then there are the idiots who think the inmates should be allowed to run the asylum.

  • "If you voted for George Bush in 2000 or 2004, you have blood on your hands...

Your party is led by a bunch of war criminals and liars"

Well if you voted for Democrats for the last several decades you have blood on your hands. Your party is led by a bunch of morally degenerate baby killers.

    "your party is disgusting..."

    Pot meet kettle.

  • Well if you voted for Democrats for the last several decades you have blood on your hands. Your party is led by a bunch of morally degenerate baby killers.

    @@@

Democrats don't kill fetuses - pregnant women and their doctors do...
