It was built starting in 1879 but not completed until 1932! Pretty surplus from the start. The parish had been merged with St Philips nearby in 1965 due to the decline in church attendance( all over the UK) in that period. I am not from Britain so I am trying to make sense of this. What has happened to the Christians who uses to attend these churches? Why would they sell the church to Muslims knowing that they will desecrate it by removing the crosses? Why do Muslims not build their own mosques rather than destroying history? @Andybabez Christianity was an integral part of what used to be British culture it contributed to our laws and our democracy, it greatly added to social cohesion and gave us a strong moral stance and spiritual satisfaction. Atheism/humanism cannot provide us with such things but yet it attacks Christianity and so Christianity declines and atheism takes root. This gives fertile ground for Islam to spread like wildfire as it offers moral laws and spirituality which atheism cannot provide.
Being selfless or charitable is not good because Christianity repeats it, its good because its good for humanity. The morality of good and evil is about helping or harming others. Disbelievers in Zeus are also under no obligation to have any sort of morality either, but because parents overwhelmingly teach their children that stealing is wrong, murder is wrong, etc, human morality is more or less consistent because not many people want to live in a society where children don't learn these basic morals and became thieves or murderers. The real danger comes when religious faith overwrites peoples rational judgement with the insane commands in the Qur'an or Old Testament.

How is it an artificial moral to assess the impact of our choices on others before making those choices? Atheism and nihilism are two different words, thats why they're not on the same page in the dictionary. Most atheists are not nihilists since they tend to be intelligent enough to recognise that some concepts repeated by religion like the Golden Rule (do unto others..) have merit, but also that altruism and concepts of morality existed long before religion tried to claim credit for it.

Didn't you wonder why Churches aren't being used anymore? The same will eventually happen to Islam. All Abrahamitic religions are based on primitive superstition irrelevant to interpretation of the world today by science. Education is the key here. Muslims brought up in secular societies with access to the same education will come to learn the truth of our existence through understanding of science. I'm clue-less about these situations in London. Why and how does it get to this point? I as a Muslim don't think Churches should be converted to Mosques. Absolutely it is dis-respectful at the same time I still do not know why this is happening. Are these like old churches and people don't use them for whatever reason? I mean no one can just go to a church and converted to a mosque. I just saw another vid earlier same story.

To all the British who are upset about churches becoming mosque, at least now that they are mosques the buildings are being used to their full capacities. No human can convert a church to a mosque of christians were actually going there on a regular basis...so it is better to be a mosque than shutting the building down completely. Anyways, the mosque is open to christians to come and pray there if they want....I don't think any muslim will object to that....Jews welcome as well....
It's not in north-east London, it's in south-east London, and it wasn't ever a cathedral, just for the record, it was an ordinary Church of England parish church. It was built starting in 1879 but not completed until 1932! Pretty surplus from the start. The parish had been merged with St Philips nearby in 1965 due to the decline in church attendance( all over the UK) in that period. Islam, Pentecostalism and seventh-day Adventism are the popular flavours of worship in this area these days.

@Andybabez Christianity was an integral part of what used to be British culture it contributed to our laws and our democracy, it greatly added to social cohesion and gave us a strong moral stance and spiritual satisfaction. Atheism/humanism cannot provide us with such things but yet it attacks Christianity and so Christianity declines and atheism takes root. This gives fertile ground for Islam to spread like wildfire as it offers moral laws and spirituality which atheism cannot provide.

Disbelievers in Zeus are also under no obligation to have any sort of morality either, but because parents overwhelmingly teach their children that stealing is wrong, murder is wrong, etc, human morality is more or less consistent because not many people want to live in a society where children don't learn these basic morals and became thieves or murderers. The real danger comes when religious faith overwrites peoples rational judgement with the insane commands in the Qur'an or Old Testament.

Atheism and nihilism are two different words, thats why they're not on the same page in the dictionary. Most atheists are not nihilists since they tend to be intelligent enough to recognise that some concepts repeated by religion like the Golden Rule (do unto others..) have merit, but also that altruism and concepts of morality existed long before religion tried to claim credit for it.
The evidence of whether something is 'good' or not is assessed by the impact of our choices on others.

Atheism alone is the lack of belief in a god, so of course it doesn't provide moral laws any more than a lack of belief in Father Christmas provides moral laws. It may be that deluding our children with a belief in Christianity is like injecting the population with the relatively benign cowpox to protect them from the deadly Islamic smallpox virus, but I'd rather not be infected with either.
Islam will also become obselete, but will be harder to shift cos it motivates with terror not love.

Women still can't drive and their state religion is Wahhabi Islam which pretty much calls all other Muslims non-Muslims and worse than non-believers. Also Iran has the largest Jewish population in the Mid East outside of Israel... I believe this is a Sufi spot and they're the most peaceful people out there. Also, these churches have been abandon pretty much with the rise of atheism in GB and werent being Used.

Didn't you wonder why Churches aren't being used anymore? The same will eventually happen to Islam. All Abrahamitic religions are based on primitive superstition irrelevant to interpretation of the world today by science. Education is the key here. Muslims brought up in secular societies with access to the same education will come to learn the truth of our existence through understanding of science. Their aspirations will also change also leading to a decline in active religious worship.

I accept, there were battles during his Prophetic mission, but you must also put them in proper context instead of deliberately misconstruing them. And if you take into consideration the extremely peaceable ethics of 'war' in Islam, you will get a very different picture. And, 'Allah' is 'Elohim', the same God of the Bible. And 'Elohim' is 'YHWH', according to the original Hebrew of Deut 4:35.

I'm clue-less about these situations in London. Why and how does it get to this point? I as a Muslim don't think Churches should be converted to Mosques. Absolutely it is dis-respectful at the same time I still do not know why this is happening. Are these like old churches and people don't use them for whatever reason? I mean no one can just go to a church and converted to a mosque. I just saw another vid earlier same story.

To all the British who are upset about churches becoming mosque, at least now that they are mosques the buildings are being used to their full capacities. No human can convert a church to a mosque of christians were actually going there on a regular basis...so it is better to be a mosque than shutting the building down completely. Anyways, the mosque is open to christians to come and pray there if they want....I don't think any muslim will object to that....Jews welcome as well....
