What does "Holy Rude" mean? Where did the name come from? You see "Rude" is a negative word and it is indeed unexpectable it could be associated with "holy" and named for a church. I couldn't find any explanation online. Any help?

@ksj1526 The term Holyrood or Holy Rood is used for a Christian relic considered to be part of the True Cross on which Jesus died. The word derives from the Old English rood, meaning a cross, or from the Scots haly ruid ("holy cross"). Several relics venerated as part of the True Cross are known by this name, in England, Ireland and Scotland.
What song is this? It's incredible. I swear I've heard before.

@chrisaira The population of greater London is twice the population of all Scotland.
We only have two cities of any size!
Glasgow and Edinburgh.

@chrisaira Completely different. Scotland has lochs, mountains and hundreds of islands with a rugged west coast like Norway.
England is mostly flat with no rushing rivers, hills over 3,000 feet, deep fresh water lochs, sea lochs or wild, unspoilt desolation.

Mate, what incredible history!
I live in a country that's only two hundred years old (British settlement that is) The Aborigines have been here for thousands of years.
But to see buildings that old is amazing to us Aussies. You certainly live in a beautiful part of the world, mate.
