I really really hope my future child(ren) will be exposed to learning environments like this rather than sitting through useless boring lectures by teachers who dont care taking notes they'll never look at.
I was running a MacBook Pro under these test conditions, not the OLPC platform itself. Whether it be because I was running it under emulation or because there were no other Sugar-running platforms around, I couldn't detect any WiFi signal whilst sitting right next to my WiFi router.
@mrbiotech As I understand what I have read the OLPC computers "mesh". That is they don't use routers etc to connect. So perhaps a whole different animal than the signal from your router!?
I might build an atom based desktop for my brother's 7th birthday running Arch Linux with Sugar. It would be interesting to see his reaction.

@racetime1960 I bet you're right. I bet in a swarm of other OLPC computers it makes for a pretty collaborative or vibrant experience.
