Newcastle Brown and Guinness brew on massive scale and yet still manage to maintain a quality that tastes hands on. The problem arises when the masses are hypnotised by beach, bitch and breast flood ad campaigns. Here's some shocking news though. Jiggly breasted woman have taste buds. Pro Rugby or American Football dudes have minds. Those small waisted ad models rarely get wasted. So if you drink mass produced mass debated mass indoctrinated beer just to be like the ad, you'll always be a sheep.
@charvelgtrs Hey Charles...so what's the reason to drink expensive, high ABV beer? Why drink any beer, EVER? That's right... it's ALL alcohol, and it's all created for people to get lubed up on. ;)
@charvelgtrs Hey Charles...so what's the reason to drink expensive, high A.B.V. beer? Why drink any beer, EVER? That's right... it's ALL alcohol, and it's all created for people to get lubed up on. ;)
@charvelgtrs Charv... the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines alcohol as: "ethanol especially when considered as the intoxicating agent in fermented and distilled liquors." When you drink beer - ANY alcohol really, you do so with with EXPRESS INTENT of getting INTOXICATED. And that's the kicker right there... the intent. You wouldn't drink beer if it wasn't intoxicating. To say otherwise is ludicrous. Don't romanticize (craft) beer as something it's not. It's ALL alcohol. Period. ;)
I drink good beer, because it tastes great. It being intoxicating is not an important factor for me. I usually drink no more than 1-3 beers when I'm in the mood for a great beer. The whole point of drinking craft beer is for the taste. Also, I would totally drink beer if it tasted exactly the same, but it didn't have alcohol. Not all of us are lushes.
I have megashark vs Giant octopus! It is horribly bad. But the best part is where the Shark leaps out of the water to attack a plane. Freaking hilarious. Does help being completely plastered and playing MST3K with it.
I don' t get it, Stone Victory and Dogfish head are in direct competition and they did a collaboration. Also Stone has done collabs with a ton of San Diego breweries of all sizes. I call bullshit on that point that they wont do collabs if you are in direct competition.
@Tantrum777 Thanks for the comments. Stone and Dogfish aren't really in direct competition because they're on opposite coasts. They can both survive because of that geographical distance. They have legions of loyal fans in both regions. Put them in the same time zone and see what happens. Every company, breweries included, are out to make money. And while collaborations can be borne from respect, fun and friendship... don't think for a second they don't all realize it's good for biz. ;)

I don't think I've had one adjunct lager that tastes good. The only occasion to drink those beers is if you are cheap and only want to get drunk.

You don't have to drink beer to get drunk regardless of the beer.
