  • Not bad. Its a tall order though. Gary Moore was a beast of a player. Fucking phenomenal.

  • Gary Moore Will Always Be One Of The Greatest Of All Time Guitarist , Anywhere In The World ! Rest In Peace My Dear Friend .. ! JoJo Taylor !

  • Great job Jamie. Guitar is ripping btw.

  • Hey Jamie, great playing buddy.

I think it is great that you responded to these trolls out here on YT. Its seems to me people only read, or should I say comprehend, a few words of posts on here. It says in the style of, not actual Gary Moore songs. A lot of people are so quick to criticize someone on there playing yet they can't play themselves. Great job taking the high road and not get into a pissing match with these trolls.

Don't let them get to you and keep up the good work!

    Take Care

  • Sometimes the sound reminds me off van halen

  • I think it captures Gary's style well it sounds very reminiscent of 'the loner' after about 2:10 good stuff

  • He was one of the greatest guitarists in the world, not just from Ireland.

  • this is the best sounding Garry style sound I have heard , the playing is superb and I cant believe how that musicman can sound so close to all of Garrys's guitars, amazing

  • whats the name of the 1st song?

  • @jhmusicman well I did for one very much like your vibrato on those high bends. Any advice for getting it to sound as good as yours? I'm not that great at vibrato. Also would you check out my playing on my channel and tell me what you think? It would mean a lot to have an opinion from someone as talented as yourself

  • @1990BobSilent cheers buddy..Jamie Humphries

  • @danTES8011 found your out of tune bends comment quite interesting and amusing...so i checked out some of your videos, as you seem to be quite out spoken, like most people here..I would comment but feel the need to reserve my opinions, as guitar playing is a personal thing, and everyone should interperate it as they feel. But maybe you should listen to your tuning on your vibrato, before you make such bold statements about mine. I hope you can acceot critisism as well as i can, jamie Humphries

  • Its just normal palm muting...I go between muting with my left and right hands to try and keep things clean...I mute with my picking hand when playing the top strings, and mute with my fretting hand when playing the lower strings..The position of my picking hand anchored on the bridge helps me palm mute..I also angle my hand slightly for fast picking. Out of tune bends?..really?..ok..and listen to 80's Gary Moore..lots of harmonics and whammy bar. Sorry to those who didnt enjoy..Jamie Humphries

  • Sounds like Gilmour??...hmmmm....This is my attempt at Gary Moore...just a tribute...The licks are all taken from Gary's recordings...but if it doesnt sound like him its because I'm not him!!...the guitar is a Musicman Axis Super Sport that Ive played now for 12 years...The pickups are DiMarzio 36th Anniversary Pafs...The string gauge I use is 10-52....not 8's!!!..thanks for the comments..Jamie Humphries

  • Love Gary Moore.Underrated but a true influence on so many. One of those great musician that most guitar players love but sadly never hit hard on the main stream. But in away that that special inside secret amongst guitarist.

  • sometimes i like to lay down on the floor and pretend that i am a carrot.

  • I for one did not like the high bends every 5 seconds, other than that it was some pretty good playing

  • @beefhasslehoff The bends are to give a breather between licks, plus give the more beginner players something to practise and achieve. remember, its a lesson, not a song, and is meant to be accessable to all. I felt that some melodic bends would be good practise for the novice, and also break up the faster licks. Jobs like these are hard, you have to piece licks together and present a workable solo..so bear that in mind..Jamie Humphries

  • string gauge is 008?

  • @ons108 I use 10-52 gauge standard tuning, and 11-54 for Eb tuning. This video is standard tuned, so they are 10-52...not 8's!!!! Jamie Humphries

  • just SICK

  • Am I the only one unable to listen past 2:05 due to a plethora of out tune bends? My brow hurts. Digging the stuff prior.

  • @danTES8011 Pretty strong comment...I checked your videos...You seem to have the same tuning issues as me then!!..Jamie Humphries

  • so good man...

  • This sounds nothing like gary moore.

  • @therox68 Really?..Jamie Humphries

  • @jhmusicman I didn't say you can't play.

  • wat marshall are you using there?

  • @consoleshop Its a reissue Plexi..Sounded Killer..its also has an effects loop on it which is a great addition to this classic amp..I was using a Rothwell Booster in front of it..Jamie Humphries

  • There is nothing moorish in there. His playing let's you feel the love. He's much more about blues patterns, slow and long bendings and just some whammy and vibrato. I don't know how you got the impression, this would be Gary Moore style. And to all guys saying it's David Gilmour: I think you've never listened to Pink Floyd o_O

  • @Lovemetallica93 Couldn't agree moore!

  • @Lovemetallica93 Its a guitar lesson...I'm simply showing you some Gary style licks...Listen to some of his 80's material, you'll hear the faster runs. The idea was to present 2 tracks from 2 earas, 80's hard rock, and 90's blues. Its pretty hard to "feel the love" as you put it when you are piecing a series of licks together for a guitar instructional product..Jamie Humphries

  • 2:32 song ?????????????

  • @BerkoGames they are just 2 backing tracks that i composed/recorded, hopefully in the style of 2 earas in Gary's career...but apparently I got it way off from the comments i'm reading..Jamie Humphries

  • Great Licks but, it doesn't sound like gary moore, sounds more like Yngwie or Van Halen, ¿Maybe Iron Maiden?, Gary Moore plays more pentatonic Stuff, and emphasises on the different types of vibrato, or bendings... the licks in the video are too fast... Gary shows us how to play with more feeling

  • I just love the sound of this guitar. What kind of music man is that?

  • @sandman4asleep Hi there, its a Musicman Silouette Special!

  • @licklibrary although the orange one is an axis.

  • @sandman4asleep actually it is a musicman axis, i think and not a musicman silhouette. The silhouette special is the guiar the man has when he talks... too bad he doesn't uses it

  • love gary moore. one of the best. fine job guys.

I dont know who you guys are that thinks this is a gilmore vid but your completely wrong. This is gary moore.

  • ppl that say that is not gary, is that ppl that didnt listen gary albums

    Gary is the man!

  • it's sounds like eddie van halen

  • Gary - guitar genius - gone too soon.

  • Wonderful tribute to a great, great Irish man. Thanks Jamie !

  • @MrCoolhandLucas cheers fella...Jamie Humphries

  • more satch than moore i think

  • how do you palm mute the lower string, and play the higher strings open?

  • @kizza314159 the technique is called "palm muting"...

  • @Randomnameezz you didnt read my question properly, at the start he mutes the base string and plays the higher strings open rather quickly, just wondering if there is a technique for that or you have to just palm mute on and off rapidly

  • @kizza314159 You angle your hand so only the lower strings are muted.

  • @kizza314159 nope...still palm muting. Palm muting doesn't necesarily mean, that you mute every string. He just muted until d string I guess...

  • great service to humanity

  • omg, I've never heard gary moore, just his name, but his style is awesome! :D

  • @tjompiskompis Well you are going to be overwhelmed when you hear the breadth of Gary's music and his incredible guitar playing - he was also a great blues singer. Try Spotify or something similar to hear complete albums. :)

  • This guitar is so awesome. Can you tell me the name of it?

  • @MeerwaserPat google "Ernie Ball Music man"

  • @GorancicAdi ok thanks

  • doesn't sound remotely mooreish and ive been a fan all of my life, every everything he's ever done....

    Nice try though...

  • @everybodylovesgav If David Gilmour plays his guitar solos like this, then I've been playing my guitar wrong all my life.

  • Im probably actually getting this

  • You guys get the title of the vid wrong? I wouldn't say this was very Gilmourish :p.

  • @inefficient Well spotted an Air Guitar is on its way! :p

  • @licklibrary Joy!

  • @inefficient Agree. Even in Gary's metal days he wasn't that heavy on the whammy bar. Sounds like a half baked halen instead.

  • @inefficient pretty sure this vids for Gary Moore. Not pink floyd

  • Licklibrary has not got one wrong yet and are very good indeed. How many tuition videos have you done inefficient . Sorry did I get the name wrong should it be insufficient.
