Wasn't the Convention Center still Memorial Audtitorium in '72? I remember seeing Evil Knieval jump there at Cyclerama in '72 and they were still building the Convention Center...He jumped in the part that was still under construction....By the way where I work I can see if from out my window.
Such energy! I wonder, if Glenn hadn't joined deep Purple, and if the band had continued- (getting tighter, growing, developing), I can't help but think that they would have been huge!
Sure the recording is Dallas, but look closely at the album cover: It's The Sunken Garden Theater in San Antonio, I was there for that show, it blew the doors off an armored car!
@RoughBoy1056 Uh-uh, RoughBoy...that "crowd shot' album cover is from Overton Park Shell (now called Levitt Shell) in Memphis, Tn. I'm one of the people in the crowd! They said they had just had alot of their equipment stolen and had to come up with stuff fast. Glenn Hughes was playing a short scale, Fender Mustang bass! Guess they were pissed (understandably!) because those boys ROCKED HARD!! Mel Galley..one of the BEST(underrated) riff guitarists of all time!!
Great to see the picture of the Trapeze at the boat club, Nottingham. Almost certain i was there as we went to see them when ever we knew they were playin! great band, true rockers! Great memories.
A GREAT GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS THAT LOVED TO ROCK !!! they even Rocked when they were down singing bout some, Black Cloud followe'n um. YEA!
I have seen virtually no live Trapeze from this era on youtube and hearing this is a trip back in time that I needed!!!! Thank-you for posting this!!!! Do you have more of this and do you have any CD's available of it? I had to ask,,,,,,,,,,,,it doesn't seem to exist anywhere else but here. Thanks again! Unbelievable, man!
