  • I remember this parade......it was cold, but once the music started it didn't matter. A memory I'll cherish! Rambler 4 life!

  • Hah,now i'm here with the 2011 band, wish it was like it was back here in 93'.

  • @jballen90 how are they looking?

  • @TomazHilton Not gonna lie,it's pretty good now,but i think this was Eastern at it's peak.

  • I smile every time I see Eastern's Band. Blue and White Marching Machine 4EVER!

  • THIS WAS MY FIRST YEAR AS DRUM MAJOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! NOW THIS WAS POWER!!! Sam

  • @djustthink - I am from the Cardozo Class of 1981. I marched in the band at Cardozo for four years (one year while in junior high school). I don't recall Eastern actually havving a serious marching band program until my senior year at Cardozo (80-81). We competed against Eastern (among others) that year. Ech time, Eastern, including at the Azalea Festival Parade in Wilmington, NC. Of course, we won 1st place. I don't even know if Eastern placed in the top three.

  • @MrOu83 Actually Eastern always had a good program everyone know Cardozo had there shine because of there infamous "DC Cab" movie appearance which wasn't for that very long and of course the rose bowl parade but I guess if you think eastern didn't have a good program before 80-81 you are sadly mistaken.

  • @MrOu83 Yo! dogg Im wit you on that...I am a hughe fan of the Clerk squad I even graduated from Cardozo in 93...and my brother Anthony Washington whose better known as aka nick name Columbo to which was a trumbone player thru the years 80-83 0r 84 I think- anyway the band was of course the best of all DC bands no one could even dare out top them at {ALL} Mr. Gill and his brother were great directors. I remember many fond days of Cardozo's performances..Passadina was great too and Winchester lol

  • @bandops -Yyou must not have heard many marching bands if you believe Eastern is one of the best band you have ever heard.

  • Proud member of this band from Sept 1986 - May 1989.

  • I am from the class of 1975...we always had a baad ass band....Rambler Pride....

  • love it, dc bands always know how to put

on a show. former memebers know that your hard work

and efforts were trying enjoyed by all.

for Clerk but got to give Respect to the Ramblers

i personally enjoyed many parades you were in.

  • That was the eastern i dreamed of, we still held it down in 97 with gilchrist though, the best tuba section ever.

  • They were good back then! Even in '86-'88.

  • @TheRcherry i was in the band briefly in 85-86 and the half time show at homecoming was off the chain. i wish coach fields would have let us watch the show

  • @bestfriendx1 I remember when Eastern use to come to Norfolk for the NSU parade. You guys were huge!!! I was in a small band called John Yeates from '85-'90. In '91 the school became Nasemond River High School; the best band in Hampton Roads in the early '90's.

  • This is one of the best sounding marching bands I had ever heard. I recruited all of those tuba players to come to Norfolk State in 1993. BODACIOUS FOREVER BABY!!!!!!!!

  • yessss go my ramlbers

  • I see myself!!! Go Bass Mob. Lol Those were the good days of the Blue and White Marching Marching!!

  • i think so cause there working fast

  • Talk about energy musicianship marching and putting on a show this is what a marching band used to look like. I would love to see them get back at this level I wonder what fall 2010 holds for the machine..???

  • will the school even be fully open for them next year?

  • Go Eastern...I'm a Ballou Knight c/o '99 and always a big fan of good marching bands...Eastern use to bring it where ever they went...whether under Mr. Moore or Mr. Ghilcrest...

  • this is the eastern i remember when the came to newark n.j in 94, 96, and 97. they were really good and i love the fast paste marching. school should keep the traditional band front uniforms and the traditions that came with the marching bands

  • Oh yeah...I remember this parade... 11th grade and it was MAD cold!

  • aww look at my school. I graduated in 99 but I had fam in this band, I couldn't WAIT to go there LOL

  • now dats da eball i grew up wit

  • true eball. this is the reason i came to eastern(99-01) the last great years. ask doug for some tapes bcuz he has them all. even the tape at greyhound when we raped howard(99')

  • I was there to I was living at temple court apartments... my mom called me from her cell and told me to come down the street. OMFG howard was getting raped so hard.. I was only 11 years old when the murder happened, thats when I knew i was going to EHS

  • what y'all gotta realize is everything is cyclical...eball today may not have the size of 93, 99 or 01 but they still got quality. peeps comparing them to ballou know...c'mon yall watson been at ballou almost 14 years and these young cats been at eball for only 2 1/2 years plus they weren't directors before. alumni need to stop bashing and give back.

  • yea thats true. watson been ther for 14 years and the band JUST got going. the new BD is doing what Watson is doin in 2.5 years. i cant wait till EHS get some size (especially Trumpets!!!). they will shock people.

  • Dammit get the tape and post it lol. if you cant do it, ill do it.

  • I'm so glad that Cardozo High is back.

  • Aren't we all... we need more music in DCPS.. especially when people want to see us fail....

  • CAN U ADD THE CLIP OF THE ROSE BOWL BOO

  • Support Eastern HS @ ATL's Metro Jamboree!!!! in there with the big Boys!!! May 16th

  • Tru! I graduated in 99, and that was definitely one of the best years during my time in the band. THis clip right here, is definitely an eball classic!!!

  • yeah eastern has a damn good band..... but how would eastern fair against ballou?

  • Actually Eastern was the better band this year, but until 2011-2012 Eastern is closed for renovation.

  • sound like rain on the dance floor or more less that power house given it to you raw1 NO BODY BLEW LIKE WE DID NOR GAVE A TRUE SHOW.

  • them tubas.... omg those tubas

  • Yea. This is definitely more like it. We really need 2 have more clips like this that represent the real Blue & White Marching Machine! From 88'-95', Eastern ruled the East coast & I hope there will be more videos to prove it. A lot of ramblers did go 2 NSU, but I went 2 Hampton University & represented for Eastern in 93'-94'. I see some1 typed HU. Is that Howard or Hampton. I marched for both & neither one of them could not handle the Real Pride of Capitol Hill. Holla @ yo boy! Ku of E-Ball 92'

  • If you know anyone wit tapes tell them to holla at me

  • now this is EHS at its best and yes i was there marchin in this parade. we did the damn thing

  • Yes y'all did do the damn thing! I was with the Spartan Legion Band and y'all were beside us before the parade started. Always loved you guys. A large number of you guys came over to NSU that summer.

  • EBALL!!!!!!!!!

  • now this is the real EHS

  • HU!
