Believe it or not, the "Live" album was the worst selling album for America in the U.S. No singles were ever released from this album, so maybe that's why a CD version was never issued here.
@sandinyourshoes Actually, that's the version I was looking for here on youtube. Unfortunately, this definately isn't it. This sounds like a version from a very bad cover band.
@thejazzman210, I imagine that CD would fetch a pretty penny. Actually, I still like this version. The "Live" album still hold special memories for me. Sgt. Darkness also took the cake.
@sandinyourshoes You can add Hollywood, Another Try, Muskrat Love, and Amber Cascades to the list. Heck, the entire album was great. I think I played the wax off of that album back in the early 80's. Good times.
@thejazzman210, goodness, yes, the whole album was a treasure! I loved it the moment I first heard it. The CD was, I believe, issued in Australia. Hence, no official U.S. release ever existed from what I checked.
hello linda, thanks for replying, i'd forgotten i'd made a comment. i love this song and i was so disappointed when i saw america last year and they didn't play it, it's very underrated. i find it very moving and sad but in a good way, if you know what i mean, i often end up crying, when i listen to it. omg, what a wimp!!!
hi, I checked and the original is on Rhino records which is one of the labels that won't allow their music on youtube (copyright infringement crap) They just lose more customers that would buy the songs if they could hear them....this is a great song
NMB THANK YOU!! This is a great live version of a great song! I first heard this on an America Live album I got in England while in the Air Force. Neal Lynch does a nice youtube cover of this. Too bad the audience was loud on this, BUT Thank you again.
Face it. Some of the best music made during the time. And it stands up today.

@thejazzman210, what a shame that fans did not bother to support it.

I will always think of America's 1977 LP, "Live," whenever I hear this. It is still hard to find it on CD.
