  • the steward sholud take the helemt off it was a possible head injury

  • Gets me thinking... If the japs are all about timings... Why the fuck did the medic take so long?

  • @youneke Race was cancelled in this moment. No cars run over him.

  • He is very much alive, probably the worst crash ive seen, he runs a tuning and race prep company in Japan called Tezzo which is still cool

the visor when he was laid down sagged onto his face, 800degree hot burning plastic onto bare skin just isnt cool, the guy in the black racesuit is another driver who stopped to help!!

he had bad burns to his nasal area and the smoke inhalation caused him to lose some movement in his right arm fingers and shoulder!

    Lucky guy to be alive!

  • thank god for fire suits

  • i think the plastiv of his helmet just stuck to his skin.. horrible

  • Must have been a race run by RACELINE or OPTION1

  • HORROR

  • looks like his visor was smashed. jesus, i hope he didnt get blinded or something

  • @iriddell1 heck,it was MELTED to his face

  • @84Bronco351 :( thats brutal

  • @iriddell1 but he can still see fine

  • Good god... i've watched this clip many times. And i still get horrified when i see the smoke coming out of his helmet. The smoke from the melted visor that's stuck to his face and eyes... That scene can haunt you forever...

  • where is the stupid ambulance??

  • Comment removed

  • pretty scary...

  • Comment removed

  • @weldon0m its melted onto his face and you're not supposed to remove brain buckets,

  • Comment removed

  • is that how medics are in japan? i know cultures are different but FUCK ME

  • @whyeff21 that wasnt medics

  • @whyeff21 lol. i know reminds me of how they responded to Fukashima.. 'eh don't worry its just a little heat.'

  • its amazing he survived this, but he is a very rich man now due to this and doesnt show much burns on his face either :)

  • oh yeah, the fucking melted Ferrari is more important than the driver? FAIL!

  • they should put water on him to cool down, you could see the smke coming of him, he's flesh keeps burning! a fire hose could cool it down! omg!

  • @periesicsd No, that's how people go into shock.

  • this pisses me off having to see him trying to get up and falling back down, that proofs how poor of hospitality there is..poor dude man

  • Fuck, help him get his damn helmet off. Its got to be like a small oven in there.

  • @chewser117 His helmet was melted onto his face. They could not take it off.

  • le casque cramer au putain :O

  • Google "Tetsuya Ota" if you want to know what really happened.

The idiot who lay him on the ground caused his face to be permanently disfigured since the visor was semi-melted and fell on his face!

of course he was badly burnt by the incident and was only awarded $800K in damages after suing the race organizers

  • Its mean, but I laughed when he fell over... Shit Medics

  • Y SALIO VIVO EL WEY

  • save the caaar....car`s safety first!

  • this video makes me so mad

  • @parkerfroid

Me too - I almost shouted "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TAKE HIS FUCKING HELMET OFF!" at the screen!

  • the visor on the helmet melted on his face, he was exposed to 800 degree heat for 90 seconds, and he is alive. What a fucking monster.

  • "the worst medics I have ever seen in my life"

"the worst medics I have ever seen in my life"

"the worst medics I have ever seen in my life"

  • il sont ou les toubib????????

  • Ferrari was driven by Tetsuya Ota. Full info at Wikipedia.

  • that was a heavy hit

  • Yeah dale earnheardt had it easy

  • did anyone end up dieing due to this crash?

  • @adpreston123 Nope, not that i know of.... amazingly.

  • I thought he died in the crash! Put the car out first (even though all the fuel had probably burned already). They probably should have left the guy in it, unless they thought the car would re-ignite.

But I do not think anyone expected that driver to move under his own power, much less stand up and try to walk. They may have only had 1 paramedic crew.

Does anyone know what type of racing suit he was wearing? I am planning to buy a new one, and that looks incredibly effective.

  • MA XKè QUELLO VIENE LASCIATO DA SOLO! CHE COGLIONI

  • unbeliveble that the driver survived by this accident

  • they worried about the car first, and forgot the driver

  • Fkn selfish japs!! This video make me really soo mad!! The driver is just so lucky to be a life and they don't do anything to help him! Just turn to that broken car... where is humanity?! Is everybody in Japan nuts?!

  • @MMDHP i dont think it has anything to do with them being japanese. they are just idiots altogether.

  • @bugger06

    You are definitely right!

I got very mad when I saw this video... Sorry for all the good japanese people!

  • Awesome.

  • Wow stupid fucking japs

  • is this apropiat to put on youtube cuz i dont think so

  • OH MY GOD GET IT OFF MY FACE AARRGH

  • What the description hides is that the poor driver had such serious facial burns that his life would change forever.

  • the drivers helmet is much useful saving his life when he fell down than those f*cking medics..

  • really really bad medical crew

the shoul get a really hard punish for that

    sorry for bad english

  • Thats a really poor response, that delay of a minute could have been the difference between life and death,

This is why british marshalls and rescue crews are the best in the world, You can expect medical help inside a minute on British circuits.

  • Did he have any serious burn injuries? May be a dumb question but just kinda curious how well he faired in a bomb

  • my god...

  • @LucyGT1 H

HEY LOW BALLERS , wat the hell u fking up with ? Just go suck donkey balls and shut the fuck up .

  • That is just a joke, glad to hear the drive got quite a large sum of compensation

  • udji te na ovaj link : youtube.com/watch?v=4lm22QLDils

  • udji te na ovaj link :

     youtube.com/watch?v=4lm22QLDils

  • OMG...oO i'm so shocked about this

  • thats painfull

  • these japanese dumb fuck medics holt fuck...thet just leaves him there

  • OMG

  • wow, he looked so dead laying there, then he picks his head up. lucky bastard.

  • Also, this video is cut a little short. 3 or 4 seconds after this video ends, a minivan pulls up and the driver is placed inside it. Like I said, the medical personnel were ill equipped or the ambulance was loading someone else.

It was bad deal all around.

Ota was awarded $800,000 in the end. A far cry from the $2,500,000 he started out asking for, but he said that he was happy with it.

He still works in motorsports as a tuner-shop owner dealing as a Ferrari specialty shop.

  • I should also mention that the EMS and Fire Rescue personnel have 30 seconds to reach and pull drivers from burning cars. That means both fire fighters and EMS have to work in cadence to accomplish this. None of the workers at this race had had any extensive training which has now changed.

Fuji Raceway is as safe as any of them. Take that for what its worth. If your a racer, you've picked a dangerous career. You can die.

Fire is your worst enemy. Racers are required to get out of cars in 10 sec.

  • @bird2doggy

the new fuji is highly safe, cant tell if this was the old fuji or the newer one

but this race should have been red flagged with that much fog

  • Everyone should just shut-up about how bad the Paramedics were. The men in the orange jump suits are not Paramedics and probably not even EMT's. From what I've read about this shunt, they were safety workers with maybe some first aid training. This is what part of the law suit was about that brought on by Tetsuya Ota, the driver of the Ferrari 355 Challenge car. The law suit stated that the track workers were not trained well enough and that medical personnel were not equipped well enough.

  • WTF dont leave the driver alone... WHAT THE FUCK...

  • help the fucking ferrari driver?

  • Jesus, does anyone want to help the guy??? Glad to see he lived though, that was a horrific crash.

  • why medics have helmets? i think its a driver too

  • @elbschleuse The man this the helmet is a driver a safety car ( look the red car behind the ferrari ).

  • Wow...even for 1998, that is piss poor safety crew work. And that was at a GP weekend? God help anybody in an F-1 car with workers like that to protect them.

  • japneys are crazy save the car first then the driver

  • Holy shit, dude's plastic cover had melted to his face he started to panic a little!! Plus he had burns on his right arm, why did it take so long?

  • did it hurt?

  • @Ja14111948 Considering I've personally suffered 3rd degree burns, I can tell you, yes, being on fire FUCKING HURTS! Afterwards hurts even more because of the medical process they use to keep skin grafts over the burn site clean to prevent infection. Ever thought ripping a bandaid off your skin hurts? Same principle, except it feels like they're actually pulling your skin off, because the nerve endings in that area are sensitive as fuck. So yes, Ota suffered alot of pain because of that crash

  • dam that dude tryed to get up but then felt in his head hard, as you can see dirt frome the ground come up and dam i bet that hurt it!! XD

  • The asshole in the bright orange suit should be taken out into a field and shot in the head! What an ignorant piece of shit!

  • what? why?

  • i love how they take his neck brace off pate him on the shoulder and leave then come back because he fell poor car, poor guy hope there alright......

  • omg he survived i have watched the vid of the actual crash and i thought he was dead cause of the explosion, the force of the crash and cause he was in the burning car for so long, i am glad he survived

  • The name of the driver is Tetsuya Ota. As you can see, his visor melt on his face, which must have been extremely painful. The medical response was extremely bad that day.

  • In Japan its very rare, this is not human...

In 8 hours of Suzuka in bikes if you crash you have to risk your self and arrive to boxes yes or yes. But this is not human poor driver is in a big shock, they let him, after they let him go up.... its crazy!

  • i see both of them alive.

  • Dear jesus those are the worst medics I have ever seen in my life. Sweet shit I hope they were immediately fired and lost whatever license they have.

  • @Umbrella7977 uhhh they were medics... dumbass...

  • @Umbrella7977 I'm pretty sure they were just trying to put out the fire from the other car so everyone didn't die because of an explosion. It's all about priority.

  • @skaught911 well they if ya think bout it anotherway too, they had a guy who was sitting in a car that went off like bomb... knocked out cold... and cant even sit up and they're puttin out a camp fire on the side... mean yes get the fire out from the cars of course but atleast 2 or 3 people can help the damn drive who can barely sit up.

  • @Umbrella7977 What? You think they had a license?

  • @Umbrella7977 How many medic's do you know that carry fire extinguisher's? they are bloody track marshals for fuck sake. why the hell don't people watch the bloody video's before making themselves look stupid by slagging off someone who's job is to put out small fires but he tries to help as much as possible. I bet this poor guy helping doesn't get paid for doing this yet he has to deal with something so horrific. Praise the guy insted of slagging him off!!!!!!!!

  • @Umbrella7977 That wasn't a medic. Also, since he isn't a medic, they told him to lay down and to NOT move which is the correct thing to do. A person with a possible broken neck or other spinal injuries should not be moved at all. The drive is in obvious pain and cannot think clearly. They should have held him down until the real medics could arrive. You people should think before commenting like ignorant fools.

  • @calvin950 Absolutely correct. The better question here is: Where the hell were the medics .. or, even better: Why wasn't there a single medic?

  • @calvin950 if they were so concerned abotu his neck, they would have touched his collar

  • @calvin950 well, said.

  • @calvin950 i think what he ment was ,the fella who was with the driver should have stayed with the driver and not stroll away with a fire extinguisher like an asshole

  • @calvin950 Perhaps it would have been better to keep him on his side though, the visor actually melted into his eyes and nose as he layed there, which is why he got up suddenly.

  • @calvin950 Actually your wrong. They did the correct thing here which was to get him out of the road. Neck injures or not. You don't want to survive a crash like this then have another car run over you.

  • @Umbrella7977 they're not medics dude i think they're the pit crew lol

  • @Umbrella7977 if any license, fucking homos, a life is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times costly then the car

  • @Umbrella7977 problem is ,they're track amrshalls, they don't know anything aobut medical stuff, and have to wait for the medics themselves to show up before being able to operate n him or anything. but yeah, they really suck.

  • @Umbrella7977 he wasn't a medic he was a marshal and after seeing the crash and the blaze the driver was very lucky to be alive! btw a lot of marshals are unpaid volunteers some may have some medical training or fire fighting training but most are there for the love of the sport and are just trying to help

  • @Umbrella7977

look at lambo crash at brno - i felt like watchi f1 from early days

OMG!

  • @ZofeluxDiforof what kind of hot chick do ya see in this video?

  • Comment removed

  • Niko da pomogne coveku jebote

  • Oh my god i would hate to have those officials if i wrecked. What kind of care is that? Oh hes all good let him walk it off, FUCK NO. Support the neck dont move breathe deep. I know what its like to be dased and when you are you have no idea if your broke or not thats why you need to stay put untill you get through that X-RAY.

  • he survived. but he must be scarred for life. and traumatised. i mean he was in tonnes of shock with the fella tryna hold him!

  • Holy shit he did survive that crash!

  • Que merda o cara em vez de cuidar do piloto vai cuidar do carro... ai em vez de tirar o capacete do piloto tenta levanta-lo....que burro...

  • damn not great for the ferrari lol

  • fukin japanese theres eyes .... no wonder they cant drive

  • Stupid japanes

  • omg that guy its very strong to resist that heat

  • this made me cry

  • o piloto com o capacete saindo fumaça sufocando ele,e o burro nem pra ajudar ele, ficou preocupado com o carro..

    burrosss

  • OMG

  • The treatment by the "safety" team is incredibly incompetent and unprofessional - takes off the neck support? Then walks away? If Oto had a upper spinal fracture, that stunt could have killed him outright. When he stands it is obvious he has a broken leg or ankle, guessing femur the way he drops when putting weight on it. Bad enough not black-flagging the race before, but the Emergency team actions, he easily could have survived, only to be killed by incompetence. His recovery is amazing.

  • Wtf the guy like, just leaves him there to flop around on the tarmac.

  • sheeeeit is his helmet smoking? From the comments it seems he's alive and well. What a tough SOB. Much love to ya man.

  • terrible

  • shit man no one can leave a decent remark, what's wrong with you people,

1 I am glad Tetsuya Oto survived this horrible crash

2 there is nothing wrong with ferrari, look at the weather conditions. jeeeezzzz

  • ferrari motor is dangerous.....

  • do not buy ferari

  • i don't think ferrari is dangers it's the driver make mstake and mis juge the road and crash.

  • The mistake was not shutting down in those conditions, I don't see driver error. If you've ever been on a track in thick fog, it's not pretty. I had my first experience just during a practice, coming off the straight into a 90-100 mph turn you could not even see. I cannot imagine trying to race in those conditions, you would be highly unlikely to see the caution flags. Plus it appears the guys were a little slow on the flag.

  • UAUU

  • what do you think he feels because the äm... thing of his helmet meltet into his face. can he still see and things like that? man this guy is really...... damn man! what a poor guy!

  • this video serious makes me so mad! help the fuckin guy for god sake!!

to fuckin busy worrying about the damn car

  • @sasan8800 Its not that they were worrying about the car, the golden rule in first aid is protect yourself, then others who arnt injured then the injured, if he stopped to help that guy up and the car burst into flames they would now have 2 + casualties instead of 1. Or take 5-10 seconds to make sure all flames are out on the car then attend to the casulty.

  • @AndyWillow1989

It does not make sense the need of 20 people to turn off one fire and live the man on the floor whit the helmet melting on his face, notwithstanding, they got him whit no proper treatment on the place, he could die if his neck was broken!...this video really shocks me!

  • @sasan8800 yaaah baby u rit

  • were the fuck is that guy man forget about the car its done worrry about the fuckin guy that can barely move! fuckin japanese man!!1

  • I burnt my mouth once eating mac and cheese :(

  • That fucking guy is drunk as all fuck...and so is the marshall...WTF is going on??...is this a race for drunken Japanese pissheads???

  • wtf his helmet cooked to his face.. and paramedics went to the porsche driver instead of coming to him.... assholes!

  • My fuck that burn across the face must hurt... I've been badly burned on my arm and belive me, you go through hell for a month...

  • At 0:53 it's like the safety guy is trying to stop the driver or he is helping him because he's dizzy?

  • I once read he made it so for but lost part of his nose.

  • I've heard that stupidity does not hurt, maybe you could give me some first-hand information.Would be nice thanks.Miss I am quite of your opinion! The other has had the help really needed!

  • right, you understand me ;D

  • in what kind of sh** world are we living in -.-....

  • uhh ohh we got a fucking hypocrit... If global warming is real why did algore have to tell u.

  • The guy was still smokin'. Brutal. I feel sorry for him but he made the choice.

  • really sad !!!

the safety guards failed ! I cant belive how a human can watch a man burning in a car without doing anything. Even if I was the porsche driver, who passed the ferrari, I would stop my car to help the other driver!

unbeliveable ! hope such things don`t happen again!

A SAD DAY FOR MOTOR RACING !

  • This is NOT an example of how a safety crew should act. I'm sorry, but their was ONE person at the Ferrari, and 10ish at the Porsche? And why was he helping the guy UP?

  • where the paramedic..

  • the guy survived but with 3rd degree burns to his face cause the helmet melted and got brain neural damage because of the heat. He won a suit in court against the race organizers.

  • we go this guy away from him°° he should help him or not? stupid idiot

  • i dont get it...why was that man ever left alone????? the safety was soooo ignored as for him as well!!! wtf!! he should havce had a dozen people around him helping !!!!!!

  • hi.. when i saw this i start shaking.. how did he survived. its kinda impossible :S

I start think in all the shit i make.. and now.. "we dont know what's the pain" only guys like him know that..

(my english is a bit bad so dont judje me)

  • What was the cause of his uncontrolled moves?? CO2 contamination??

    :((

    cya

  • did this guy go blind?

  • The driver was Tetsuya Ota He was trapped in his car for over 90 seconds at nearly 800 degree F heat. He had major nerve damage in his right shoulder/arm and subsequently stopped racing. Check the Wikipedia article on him for more info.

  • go to google and type in keeponracing. Tetsuya's website should come up. It appears that he now has all of his motor functions back in his body and he is more accomplished now than ever. What an amazing recovery.

  • to je hrozny... jako by tam nebyl.. si ho nikdo nevšimal snad krom toho v oranžovim.. nebyt jeho tak tam leži až dodnes :D :-( fakt hruza.. přežil to?

  • ano.

  • Comment removed

  • the ferrari driver after just having a smash tries to get up!!! what a top bloke!

  • check out the crash under my videos

  • Danm!! that guy looks blind, he tries to take his helmet but it seem the visor just melted over his face!!! Thats terrible.

  • he's obviously concussed
