Remember the solidarity shown to Palestine here and everywhere... and remember also that there is a cause to which many people have committed themselves, difficulties and terrible obstacles notwithstanding. Why? Because it is a just cause, a noble ideal, a moral quest for equality and human rights.
AbtinX u are the stupidest person i have ever heard of. u think getting stared down at is anything like wat Suheir was talking about. try being locked in a room filled wit only arabs and question for hours at a time, just cause ur an arab american, then having ur bags check and having everythin pulled out of it and messed wit then right b4 u have to catch ur plane u need to repack ur shit, and end up leaving half the stuff because ur about to mess the plane.
If Jews are aloud to write numerous works on the Holocaust and the state of Israel, why can't Palestinians write about their mistreatment committed by the Israeli government?
You are a hypocrite and if you don't like Palestinians or this poet then why bother watching and posting a comment...

No, it isn't. It is an interview with a poet who gives her perspective as a minority to both her ethnic group and her nationality. And I didn't say it wasn't of interest. (Though, it's of absolutely no interest to me, because I was looking for news.)
What part of an in-depth feature excludes interview? She speaks of how current events (islamophobia) have affected her and people like her personally. Just because the channel is called realnews doesn't mean it has to deliver breaking news exclusively. Features, articles, investigative journalism all have space here. I think the theme, the poetry itself and the feature are newsworthy. You wouldn't see this anywhere else.
Not to waste your time splitting hairs here, but you have misrepresented my argument. I never said that news cannot include interviews. That is like me saying you think all interviews are automatically news, which I would not do. Point-in-fact: islamophobia is not a current event by any definition of the phrase.
How is islamophobia not a current event in a post-911 world? In every airport at every instance of screening arabs are singled out just because of their apperance. It is something that is on-going and sometimes to ridiculous extents. It is a current event for millions of people of arabian descent, because it happens to them everyday. if anything islamophobia is a very recent happening in modern history and nowadays more current than ever.
It's not easy, I return to Sweden from Japan and the customs guy here in Stockholm looks me down like I just stole his wallet and left for Amsterdam with both his wife and his sister. I felt more at home in Nagoya than the country where I live. Beat that! hahahaha

Blackiron60; I disagree. Your statement is the slippery slope of the 'Other'... We can't march to the beat of the hate drum played by the oppressors. We should NOT buy into the concept that the 'Other' is my enemy. Violence is always wrong. One minute a victim, the next minute a victimizer. We are all one people with Universal Human Rights... If we want to be brave, then we should speak Truth to those who beat the drum of hate, polarization, and oppression. Killing is always wrong. Always.
This part is much better than the first where they discuss the movie... At least this is what I think... She is much better represented by her poetry.

I have to say that I increasingly disagree with the religion of unconditional non-violence. Fighting against oppression sometimes demands violence.
