this isn't even watchable with the lagging audio. pay some damn attention to what you upload - this video is nearly the personification of ignorance. have some respect for the director.
The reason working class people feel their voice is not valid, it is simple... everyone around them puts them down, because the working class hate to see people rise up above them.
1. Martin Scorsese 2. Alfred Hitchcock 3. Francis Ford Coppola 4. Orson Welles 5. Sergio Leone. Tarantino has made few movies (I think it's 6, if you count Kill Bill as one film) and so it's harder to say whether he truly is in the leagues of these legends, the rate he's going he'll barely get to 10 before he retires (he said he'll retire at 60.) No one comes close to Scorsese though, he lives, breathes and creates cinema, a true master.
Mark Cousins is a bit of a Wanker. I wish he'd stop cutting off Martin. Cousins waits eagerly for Scorsese to finish talking without listening to a word or picking up on anything the director says.
@Gettulio I think he does a good job as he's talking to him as a person rather than an interviwer as such. He let's him talk all the time & just joins in. Like a regular conversation two people would have. That's what I think anyway :-)
Man, Bergman. Bresson. Kurosawa. Tarkovsky. Fellini. Leone, Jodorowsky, Bunuel.... Fuck, i think David Fincher's gonna have a pretty sweet catalog of films to his credit before he's done. The list goes on and on, never can pick a favorite. Scorsese rules too though, why else would i be watching this.
The man only made thirteen films within his lifetime, all of which are entirely different and unique in their own way. Kubrick showed more psychological insight in his films then possibly any other filmmaker.
@futurestoryteller your comment confuses me. how was i being pretentious? the guy told me to go fuck myself and called me a nerd so I responded with a smartass comment. but with good reason
@futurestoryteller how am I being pretentious? the guy is cursing at me. calling me a fuckass and telling me to go fuck myself, so i responded like a dick with good reason. read down a little. I was not being pretentious, I was responded to some fucking idiot
@futurestoryteller Your taking what i said the wrong way. Quentin has been making films about 30 years less than the other people mentioned. This is not to say he isnt great. You don't have to tell me where he stands. I have a band apart tattooed on my arm. I love quentin. I am honored that i am able to witness his amazing career in my life time. In 20 years I believe he will be put with these legends. but not yet.
Ooh - Ridley Scott might butt heads with him here. He loves his smoky, dusky, backlit interiors. I guess he's often a lot more fantastical in his approach though.
"Why as a self-confessed working class person did you have the confidence--"
"Oh I was a working class person but I never worked. My parents did the working. They gave me money to go to school, I had asthma; I was taken care of"
Lmfao. Coming from him. He's honest yet hilarious. Who doesn't like Scorcese?
Pulp fiction is a masterpeice, tarantino wont top that.
