The Merlin-C40 from Toplite is brighter than an MSD 250 moving head... I have them on my DJ Rig and I am extremely happy with them ... There is a video here on YouTube ... just search for "Merlin C40"
Gobo rotation is not on constantly and is variably controllable.
These are great little fixtures and I have had them next to a Mac 250 discharge and they are almost as bright. All depends on the age of the dicharge lamp. They are certainly bright fixtures for a 20W LED!! We used them on gigs and theatre but they are ideal for hazed effects so will suit DJ market very well.

wow so these are LED lights? didnt realise LED went so bright, people are still all about the halogen lamps

Similar output to a 250w halogen lamp.
Not quite as bright as a 150w HID discharge lamp.

Yes would totally agree, but remember a discharge lamp dims over its life. Will have to wait at least 10,000 hours to see if these LED's do.
