The Descent : Alternate Ending 1

Okay, either the lot of you have terrible attentiveness or there is actually 3 endings. The version I watched has her climb out, run like hell for a good time, jump in the truck, drive through the mud and finally onto a road where she puts it into park and starts freaking out behind the wheel. She turns to see an apparition of Juno then bam, credits. It's possible that the hole she came out of was closer to the vehicles. They did take quite a hike to get to the cave in the first place.

The original ending is the best. Its obvious she was hallucinating, how could the other exit lead right next to their cars? It was all in her head, she was becoming insane.

I prefer the idea of the American ending personally. I really liked the movie up until the ending which, given how unforgiving the movie had been up to that point, I just felt ruined it. I haven't bothered to watch it since my first viewing for that reason. Now Dog Soldiers kicked ass :) Maybe I'll check out a US version of this then and see how I feel about it then...

this ending is cooler than the original but precludes The descent part 2. So I prefer the original ending which better explains Sarahs shock for the terrifying descent, her remorse for sentencing Juno to death and her derangement for her doughters death.

The ending that they called official was the one where she gets out of the cave. She gets rushed to the hospital and has memory loss, and they make her go back down into the cave to find the five other girls. They find Juno alive. O:! But that's in the second movie. ;p

No I have not read a single right comment ..... in the original UK version Sarah climbs out of the cave and goes into the car and drives off the end ........... the american version is she dreams she gets out goes into the car finds juno then wakes up only to be back in the cave and the crawlers are coming near.

I'm American and I hate the American Ending. It pisses me off so much. I originally saw the UK ending which has her climbing out of the cave and seeing Juno in her jeep and then wakes up and stares at her torch thinking it's her daughter with her birthday cake. It symbolized her final descent into madness. But the American version took all of that away just to make a cliche happy ending. Unfortunately, I have the american version on DVD. It's still amazing though.

Sarah escapes but sees junos ghost/body/zombie, screams and is back in the cave, she sees her little girl and stares at her, the camera zooms out slowly, and you hear the distant call of the crawlers coming nearer..........2.) She escapes, and just before the scene with juno in the car, they end it.... < thats the shitty american one :L

Plus at 0:10 its been faded, aaand the ending ends to quickly, it cuts of before the cameras had time to zoom out....You know it zooms from sarah staring at the fire for a minute then you here the crawlers (Which is what the half cut bit it ) Im just saying its not the original ending, nor is it an alternative one...

The Descent is def one of the best horror movies of the 2000's BUT they stole too many ideas from The Cave.
