Rondo had acromegaly, also known as "gigantism", a glandular condition that sometimes causes growth, and other times is limited to facial deformities. Richard Kiel (007's "Jaws") and z-grade action star Robert Zdar (of movies like FUTURE WAR and SOUL TAKER) also have it. The disease really only affected Rondo's face, because he wasn't real big otherwise, and wore shoulder pads and platform shoes and such to look more intimidating.
