I remembered seeing a child sized toilet before. At the local airport in one of the family/disabled toilets. I think the library has one too.

Too bad I didn't get a pic of any of them.

I'm not sure why a library would need one, but the airport one makes sense, especially being the family toilet cubicle.

What does box rim mean?

That the rim has jets, i.e. it's closed in and has holes and slots to control the flush. Open rim is what it says, it's just one big hole around the rim instead.

Wow! Very powerful flushes. They almost reach the top and nearly completly flood the whole toilet.

Yup! Due to the size of the toilet pan, and because it swirls. If it didn't swirl, the water would be jetting straight down the sump of the toilet and wouldn't fill up as much.
