I'm bound to agree partially. I like James and Cutler much more. I think Jack is awesome to watch, he's funny and interesting but he's also selfish and I am inclined to believe that in the past he hurt Cutler deeply, which is the main reason for Cutler's actions. Also, I think in PotC1 it was great that there were no sides really, which was lost in the other two, where pirates became the good guys. Pity. :(

The only reason he was branded a pirate was because he freed slaves. That's how he betrayed Beckett. He was working for the EITC when Beckett, or the company anyway, had him deliver some slaves. After freeing them he was caught, branded, and the Pearl was sunk. That's when Davy Jones and Jack made that deal. After that, I guess he decided if he was going to be called a pirate, he would be one. Still hate Jack for doing the right thing?
