i love the song playing at the end, but i can't find it anywhere :[
i went to michael leviton's website and the myspace, and it wasn't there :/
i'm reading the book right now, it's really good. i find myself going into the same biblical journey as well; i started out agnostic, and with this book, bible study, and talking to close friends, i'm finding god. i hope to be a confirmed catholic by easter. i'm so glad i found this; it makes me feel like i'm not alone on this spiritual journey :)
I haven't read the book yet ,but I've lived in the bible belt all my life, and I think alot of people that has study the bible, and *Quote*Lived it has not yet fully understand what it means,OR misinterterped the language of the Bible
I really look forward ,in reading A.J s Book.
Thank you .after i read it ,I will let everyone know my opinion.
Jesus, yielded up the ghost behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying Truly this was the Son of God.
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
he accualy made some fantastic points in his book, it's more about spiritual journy than being perfect :) give the book a read, you might be suprised :)
This was probably the only book where I enjoyed every part. This is my favorite book and seeing this little bit reminded me of scenes from the book and made me laugh, a lot. A.J. Jacobs, you are an amazing author and I now HAVE to read Kknow-It-All.
I just got done with this book and it was awesome! Not what I expected at all, and it was a little funny in parts depending on your definition of humor. I so have to read his other book now!!! Thanks mr. Jacobs or A.J., or Jacob or.. what ever you call yourself now :-)
Did he let to make a photo and video about himself? Ex20:4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth...
Probably one of the best books I've read. This video was a bit comical but actually the book really isn't that funny...I don't know anyone who would actually read this for a kick..I'd figure an episode of Seinfeld I've watched hundreds of times be funnier than this...but nonetheless, an amazing book.
wait... theres a verse that says you must play the ten string harp? that doesnt sound right... i know in psalm is says praise him with the flutes, with the strings, and the drums, and voices and stuff... (im a guitarist so yay im doing it right!!!)
I'm currently a little more than halfway through this book and I'm loving it. Especially the part about stoning adulterers and sabbath breakers with pebbles. Still, the entire thing is a great, inspiring read. PICK IT UP. Thanks, A.J.!
Seriously eccentric. But how is taking the subway or a taxi "living Biblically"? And I think stoning adulterers could get you in bad with the civil authorities, let alone that it's none of your business. It looks as if you had fun and made people smile.
If you read the book, you would understand. The bible didn't say anything about not taking the subways or anything, so he can. It's a really good book and worthwhile reading.
That could work in Manhattan.

Should be "My year of living Torah" and not Biblically. The law was fulfilled in the New Testament.

@jcolino3 The New Testament isn't Biblical.

what about 'loving God with all of your heart' ?
Or 'walk in my presence and be perfect'?
Or 'shall not lust'?
I think he couldn't live biblically.
Nobody cans.
That´s why Jesus come, to fullfill the law for his people, and pay for our sins.
Repent and trust this gospel, for eternal life.

Instead of living in NY he could have moved to Teheran or some region of pakistan . It's the only way to live a true biblical life in these times.
